Big data, cloud and artificial intelligence - the digitalization trend is at the heart of all the exhibits and events at this year's CeBIT in Hannover, Germany. Featuring around 3,300 exhibitors from over 70 countries, CeBIT is the world's biggest trade show for the digitalization of business and society. And this year, it is back with a major lineup of highlights and innovations.

We have been at the CeBIT in Hanover. Germany’s chancellor Angela Merkel and the Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff opened the worldwide most important event for the digital industries. A robot has been presented, which should help elderly people in daily life and visitors could have a test drive with Formel-1 pilot Jenson Button.

The German government employees called out for strike in some parts of Germany. There is no public transport is available for visitors of the CeBIT 2012 in Hanover. Residents who are able to give visitors a lift have a red symbol in their car.

The world of gaming is going three-dimensional; IBM's Watson supercomputer is poised to revolutionize the health sector; and 3D holographic video conferencing technology is turning Star Wars fiction into reality: this year, as always, CeBIT features a wealth of groundbreaking IT innovations. Media representatives were invited to take a tour of the digital world of tomorrow ahead of the ICT fair's March-the-1st opening date.
