The CeBIT show is receiving some high-ranking visitors. Among them is German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who has taken a tour of fair’s top digital innovations from around the world. Dr. Merkel made time to talk to the exhibitors and learn about their new technologies.

Big data, cloud and artificial intelligence - the digitalization trend is at the heart of all the exhibits and events at this year's CeBIT in Hannover, Germany. Featuring around 3,300 exhibitors from over 70 countries, CeBIT is the world's biggest trade show for the digitalization of business and society. And this year, it is back with a major lineup of highlights and innovations.

The official opening of CeBIT 2016 was attended by many VIPs. Among them were German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel and EU Digital Economy Commissioner Günther Oettinger. Proof that CeBIT is a key platform for high-level political dialogue.

High speed always includes a special kind of rush – be it above or below sea level. At the boot in Düsseldorf any enthusiast can explore the technological limits. And these lie beyond what is humanly possible.

Düsseldorf is becoming the centre of the world for water sports fans: This year the boot will be attracting about 250.000 visitors to the exhibition halls by the Rhine river again. The luxury yachts especially are a sensation for young and old. The "Explorer" by Drettmann and the "Princess 30M" are two of the largest vessels at the boot.

At the world's largest trade fair for water sports boot in Düsseldorf everything really has something to do with water. From small lead balls for fishers all the way to unaffordable mega yachts – they have it all. Almost all of the exhibits have one thing in common: They are meant to be safe – above as well as under water.

Messe Frankfurt looks back on a 45-year-long tradition of success in the automotive industry and takes this opportunity to thank its long-term and loyal exhibitors. It has come up with something special for this occasion: the artist and photographer Rafael Neff has converted several customer products into theme worlds that are featured in the 2016 Automechanika calendar: Alfred Kärcher GmbH & Co. The high-quality calendar was presented at the ‘We say THANKS’ ceremony in the Klassikstadt Frankfurt, to which Messe Frankfurt issued an invitation. Automechanika is certainly the most exciting success story in 45 years. The story began in 1971 with the first Automechanika in Frankfurt, which was christened when the IAA was cancelled. In subsequent years, the trade fair has made outstanding progress, advancing to the world’s leading trade fair, which is now held in fifteen locations worldwide. In the meantime, Messe Frankfurt is also organising a series of new B2B trade fairs for trucking and logistics and B2C events for automobiles, bikes, and boats. Messe Frankfurt is continuing to expand its presence in Russia with the acquisition of a 50 percent stake in Comtrans and Autotrans by its Russian subsidiary Messe Frankfurt RUS. The remaining 50 percent will be assumed by ITE Expo OOO, the Russian subsidiary of the ITE Group. The new Joint Venture organizing company is ITEMF Expo AO. Comtrans – which has had the status of International Commercial Vehicle Auto Show since 2011 – will present the latest models of modern motor trucks, buses, trailers and their parts from September 8-12 at Crocus Expo in Moscow.
