Sodexo released its annual Workplace Trends Report today, noting among dozens of findings key trends such as 86 percent of Millennials entering the workforce now say they would consider leaving an employer whose values fell short of their expectations, clearly indicating that the emerging workforce is motivated by positive, people- and community-centric workplace practices and initiatives. Concerns about the cost of a divorce weigh heavily on the minds of people facing a divorce, including whether or not to hire an attorney, and in the decision of who to hire, according to a new Avvo Divorce Study*. Fifty-eight percent of individuals without children cite cost as their top concern going into the divorce ahead of concerns about property division (42 percent), time the divorce will take (27 percent) or alimony (22 percent). For individuals with children, cost is second to custody concerns (53 percent vs. 35 percent), but it remained the top factor cited as to why they ultimately chose to hire their specific attorney.

For negotiators at the Paris climate conference (COP21) to successfully advance global efforts to reduce carbon emissions, nations must embrace a prominent role for nuclear energy.
The Obama administration highlighted the crucial role of nuclear energy when it convened a White House Summit on Nuclear Energy earlier this month. “As America leads the global transition to a low-carbon economy, the continued development of new and advanced nuclear technologies along with support for currently operating nuclear power plants is an important component of our clean energy strategy,” a White House fact sheet developed for the summit states. Many environmentalists are also giving nuclear energy a second look, as they seek practical solutions to constrain carbon emissions.
Nuclear energy facilities provide 63 percent of America’s zero-carbon electricity. Globally, nuclear power plants provide one-third of all zero-carbon electricity. One of nuclear energy’s major advantages relative to other low-carbon energy sources is its unique ability to produce large-scale electricity around-the-clock in extreme weather conditions. Nuclear energy facilities don’t rely on the wind blowing, the sun shining, or just-in-time deliveries of fuel by truck, barge, rail or pipeline. In 2014, the U.S. nuclear energy industry’s average capacity factor—a common measure of efficiency and reliability—was 92 percent.

Nintex, the recognized global leader in workflow and content automation (WCA), today released a new study revealing the top five most broken processes in American workplaces and how they contribute to employee satisfaction and performance.
The study, called the “Definitive Guide to America’s Most Broken Processes,” found that a third of employees at U.S. companies (with more than 1,000 employees) are currently looking for new jobs, with the vast majority (86 percent) citing their company’s broken processes as a driving factor behind this decision. One commonality found in the research is that the top five issues are unspecialized, repetitive tasks that fall in the long tail of business processes, which must be automated to drive efficiency, efficacy and employee satisfaction.
