Bonefish Grill martinis are already a favorite on the restaurant’s extensive bar menu – perfectly complementing their wood-grilled fresh fish and seasonal seafood offerings. In fact, the mighty martini is on-the-rise nationwide. A report published by the U.S. Beverage Alcohol Forum found that vodka – a main ingredient in martinis – accounts for over a third of all spirits consumed in the country, and that number continues to grow.

As the number of people living with Alzheimer’s disease soars, so does the number of family caregivers. Over 15 million people are taking care of loved ones with dementia in the home, according to the Alzheimer’s Association. Sixty percent say the emotional stress is high and more than a third report depression symptoms. To help, Brookdale is offering a free webinar for family caregivers during November, National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. Thirty-six injured veterans with Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) made it to the Flight 93 National Memorial on day six of their cross-country journey to raise awareness for veteran issues. Soldier Ride Across America commemorates the 15-year anniversary of Long Island native and veteran supporter Chris Carney’s historic coast-to-coast cycling venture in support of wounded warriors, which spurred the creation of WWP’s Soldier Ride® program.
“I’m honored to be able to represent my veteran brothers and sisters on this historic ride,” said Shonda Gloude-Jones, U.S. Army veteran and Soldier Ride Across America cyclist. “Being able to visit the 9/11 memorials in New York City; the Pentagon; and Somerset County, Pennsylvania, has taken a larger emotional toll on me and the other warriors than any of the physical aspects of this journey.”

That’s when dogs and cats will invade the channel to launch MTV2’s #Down2Adopt, an on-air and online campaign to make shelters and rescue groups the go-to choice when looking for your new best friend. MTV2 will showcase adoptable shelter and rescue pets during the year-long campaign as they join forces with The Shelter Pet Project, a national public service program from the Ad Council, The Humane Society of the United States and Maddie’s Fund®.
#Down2Adopt launches with a series of video pet biographies featuring the voices of Kristen Bell, MTV2’s Charlamagne Tha God and MTV2’s Carly Aquilino comically narrating stories of how some dogs and cats found themselves in shelters. It will be all paws on deck when the #Down2Adopt pet bios premiere during an all new episode of MTV2’s “Uncommon Sense with Charlamagne” tonight, Wednesday, September 30, at 11pm ET.
