On June 29, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex will open the doors to the world’s most comprehensive and interactive attraction devoted to NASA’s 30-year Space Shuttle Program –Space Shuttle Atlantis.(SM)

With the U.S. Open Snowboarding finals this weekend, Olympic snowboarding champion Hannah Teter teams up with other professional athletes to fight child poverty through Children International, a U.S.-based humanitarian organization.

The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History will open a unique hands-on learning space, the Patrick F. Taylor Foundation Object Project, July 1. Made possible by philanthropist Phyllis Taylor, the 4,000-square-foot space in the museum's new Innovation Wing will focus on “everyday things that changed everything.”
Anchored by an array of individual cases–some overhead, others with visitor-activated sound, light and motion effects–“Object Project” will invite visitors to interact with approximately 250 objects within the 9-by-40-foot sculpture that forms the learning space. Six Flags Over Georgia prepares to take to the sky as the countdown begins for the launch of the park’s newest thrill ride, SkyScreamer. The park’s newest addition was previewed today by media and VIP guests. SkyScreamer opens to the public on Friday, May 24, 2013.
At 242 feet, SkyScreamer is 40 feet taller than the park’s mega-coaster Goliath, and will give passengers a thrilling view of the Atlanta skyline. Thirty- two riders will sit two across in open air swings while spinning to the top of the tower. At full swing, guests revolve in a 98-foot circle at speeds of 40 mph.

SkyScreamer, the newest sensation in swing rides, has taken flight at Six Flags St.Louis! Famed pilot Erik Lindbergh and Wings of Hope pilots took the inaugural first flight. Standing at 236-feet, SkyScreamer is the tallest ride in the park and the centerpiece of Six Flags St. Louis' 40th anniversary season.
Each of the double, open air swings provides a front row seat for the 32 guests that climb to the top of the SkyScreamer during each flight. Spinning round and round, with feet dangling, guests soar in a 98-ft. circle at speeds up to 43 mph. The massive "world" globe that sits atop the bright, multicolored SkyScreamer tower can be seen from miles away. Six Flags Great Adventure, America’s largest regional theme park, today announced the addition of King Cobra, an intense and visually-stunning, racing tube slide, opening at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Summer 2012.
King Cobra promises one of the most extreme riding experiences in the industry while also delivering great spectator appeal. Complete with bold orange, black and yellow scales to resemble a massive cobra on both the interior and exterior, this slide tower will be the first of its kind anywhere in the United States. King Cobra’s unique configuration enables two tubes to race through a circular path with twists, turns and surprises through enclosed and open sections of the slide at speeds up to 32 miles per hour. The ride’s finale features a sudden, 25-foot plunge at a 50-degree angle with riders racing until the heart-pounding finish as they appear to be swallowed by the massive mouth of the cobra.
