The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC) has celebrated the XXXV World Nut and Dried Fruit Congress in San Diego. From May 30th until today, more than 1,400 delegates have participated in the only and largest international event dedicated to the nut and dried fruit industry that this year’s edition has broken previous records of attendance.
The INC Congress featured a stimulating three-day program to exchange knowledge, ideas and experiences. Attendees had over 16 sessions, among round tables, seminars and keynote speakers’ presentations ranging in topics from market dynamics, crops and production forecasts, agricultural and water resources, new findings in health and nutrition, and product innovations.
Steve Junqueiro, Co-president and COO of Save Mart Supermarkets, shared his vision on the future of American supermarkets. He outlined a market featured by a more digital consumer driven by food transparency, convenience, connectivity, emotional connection and local and sustainable supply.

Being one who loves to indulge in the fear of things that go bump in the night, I used to sneak downstairs and quietly watch the Creature Feature movie hoping not to wake up mom and dad. unfortunately Harald Thoma doesn´t appear in this video, because he was about to get draughted by the army and our manager replaced him with the red-haired Jürgen Schneider. Short time after that we fired the manager and brought back Harald Thoma to the band.

One of the grandest spectacles in Thailand, the Royal Barge Procession is an ancient tradition that was revived by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej in 1959. The processions are reserved only for nationally auspicious occasions. As for the date, the procession will involve barges carrying the deeply revered Buddha image Phra Buddha Sihing and members of the royal family presenting offerings of saffron kathin robes, food and other necessities to the monks at Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). It will be the 16th procession during His Majesty’s reign.
Imagine trying to make a decision with only half the information. Misrepresented or incomplete gender data collection yields results that misses the mark on understanding women’s needs or their economic and social contributions. Policies and initiatives around healthcare, education, economic opportunity and more are built based on what’s available—gender-biased data—and fail to fairly serve women and girls. How can we close the gender data gap and pursue the global ambition towards gender equality and a fuller understanding of the whole population?
