In Texas, football and those Friday night lights are true to people’s hearts – but the importance of hydration may not always be top of mind. Representatives from Nestlé® Pure Life® recently visited a local Texas youth and football cheer practice to help inspire the coaches and parents to make healthy choices for their families and join the Nestlé Pure Life Hydration Movement. To encourage the kids to drink water and stay hydrated during practice, Nestlé Pure Life donated more than 12,000 bottles of water to the League.

Jason Rogers, 12, a 7th grade student at Bondurant Middle School in Frankfort, likes sports and plays football, basketball, baseball and soccer. He also likes math and, if he doesn’t get to play professional sports when he grows up, he wants to be an engineer.
Jason is one of 700 minority boys from middle schools in four states who are spending several weeks this summer gaining hands-on learning experiences with advanced technology through a first-of-its-kind program designed to inspire minority males to explore education and career opportunities in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields.

Maracanã – the word causes goose pimples among football fans the world over. With a capacity of 200,000 spectators, it was the largest stadium in the world in 1950. It represents the greatest drama in Brazilian football, as well as the greatest hope, to win back the title this year, as the Maracanã will host the final. However, criticism of the stadium reconstruction will not go away.
With the airing of Super Bowl XLVIII, 20 Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) students became the first to have a hand in designing the opening animation for FOX Sports’ broadcast of the NFL’s annual championship game. A television event that likely will be one of the top 10 most-watched programs in history, the broadcast was expected to draw an audience of more than 100 million.
The opening animation of the broadcast was set in New York’s iconic Times Square, and brought the worlds of art and football together to capture the superior athleticism of NFL players. SCAD students helped create the concept and design for the animation using assets provided by FOX Sports and by fashioning new creative elements.
