Countries have been ranked according to their degree of commitment to support those living with mental illness; the findings demonstrate that while there are many examples of good practice across Europe, the whole region has a long way to go before people with mental illness are adequately supported and truly integrated into their communities.

ITC Transmission, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ITC Holdings Corp., the nation’s largest independent electricity transmission company, today announced its Thumb Loop high-voltage transmission project is complete with the energization of the third and final phase of the project. ITC invested an estimated $510 million to build the 345,000 volt (345 kV) line, which serves as the backbone of a system designed to meet the identified maximum wind energy potential of Michigan’s Thumb region. The First Graduation Ceremony of Nazarbayev University (NU) took place on June 15, 2015. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev addressed the Class of 2015.
Nazarbayev University, created on the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan in 2010, is fast becoming a leading research university in Kazakhstan and the region. The first cohort of graduating students consists of 446 undergraduate and graduate students. Of the 365 bachelor degree holders, 115 have been accepted to Masters and PhD programs in leading universities of the world, some 90 graduates plan to continue their studies at Nazarbayev University; more than 80 received job offers from leading national and international companies, and another 50 are interviewing with prospective employers.

This initiative provides free consultations, medical treatment and sun education via mobile surgery clinics to the 40,000 indigenous people from the Archipelago of San Blas, a region with the highest incidence of albinism in the world. Albinos can face severe skin problems, such as skin cancer, caused by UV light and sun exposure due to the lack of melanin in their skin. The mobile surgery clinics are able to travel to the Archipelago of San Blas, a community that often shuns medical treatment and avoids protective measures against skin cancer.
