Die dritte Generation des Audi TT, der Huracan als Nachfolger des Lamborghini Gallardo, der „Rembrandt Bugatti“ als weitere Sonderedition des Veyron 16,4 Grand Sport Vitesse, der Continental GT Speed als schnellster Bentley aller Zeiten sowie der Seat Leon Cupra zeigten das Hier und Jetzt. Die Skoda-Designstudie „VisionC“ und das sechssitzige Konzeptfahrzeug „Clipper“ von Giugiaro dagegen unterschiedliche Ansätze, wie die automobile Zukunft aussehen könnte. Für den Spagat zwischen Konzeptfahrzeug und Serie zuständig aren der T-ROC, mit dem Volkswagen zwischen Tiguan und Touareg eine neue SUV-Baureihe etablieren wird und die Alltrack-Studie für den VW Multivan, der schon sehr bald auf unseren Straßen zu sehen sein dürfte. Ein vielfältigeres Angebot kann derzeit kein anderer Autokonzern bieten.

Beim diesjährigen traditionellen GTI-Treffen am Wörthersee präsentierte Skoda gleich fünf sportliche Modelle. Highlight war die zweifelsohne die Weltpremiere der Studie Rapid SPORT. Außerdem mit dabei der neue Octavia Combi mit Sportpaket, den Citigo Motorsport der Fabia RS Motorsport sowie der erfolgreiche Rallyewagen Fabia S2000. Der Rapid SPORT zeigt das Potential des Skoda Designs und die Möglichkeiten, die im Rapid stecken. Das Fahrzeug ist in den Metallicfarben Corrida-Rot und Steel-Grau lackiert. Satt und markant steht der Sportwagen auf seinen wuchtigen 19-Zoll-Leichtmetall-Rädern. Die Fahrzeugfront besticht durch Spoiler und den kraftvoll gestalteten Lufteinlass in der Schürze. Großzügig dimensionierte Kotflügel und massive Schweller unterstreichen den Auftritt des Fahrzeugs. Weitere sportliche Akzente setzt das Heck mit dem voluminösen Stoßfänger und zwei integrierten Auspuff Endrohren. Pünktlich zur Markteinführung des neuen Octavia Combi präsentierte der tschechische Autobauer auch ein Sportpaket für den Lademeister. Zur Ausstattung gehören ein Frontgrill in glänzendem Schwarz sowie ein rot-schwarzer Frontspoiler. Die Spiegelkappen und die Dachträger sind schwarz-glänzend, der Heckdiffusor in Rot und Schwarz gehalten. Pure Dynamik zeigt auch der Citigo Motorsport: Wirkungsvoll kontrastiert die weiße Wagenfarbe mit schwarzen Längsstreifen auf der Motorhaube und dem dunkel verglasten Panoramadach. Die Frontscheinwerfer sind schwarz hinterlegt, die Nebelscheinwerfer schwarz eingefasst. Die Dachlinie endet mit einem schwarzen Spoiler. Getönte Scheiben betonen den sportlichen Charakter. Ein besonderer Hingucker in Reifnitz war der Rallyewagen Fabia S2000. Das Fahrzeug gehört zu den erfolgreichsten Autos des internationalen Rallyesports. Die Leistungsfähigkeit und Zuverlässigkeit des Fabia S2000 legte die Grundlage für eine Vielzahl an Skoda Rennsiegen. So zählte die Saison 2012 dank des Fabia S2000 zu den erfolgreichsten Jahren in der Motorsportgeschichte von Skoda. In a new round of evaluations, 5 of 7 small SUVs earn good ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for occupant protection in a passenger-side small overlap front crash.
The ratings bring to 16 the number of small SUVs the Institute has evaluated in the passenger-side small overlap front test, which was introduced in 2017 to encourage manufacturers to offer the same level of protection for front-seat passengers as drivers in this type of crash.
The BMW X1; Chevrolet Equinox and its twin, the GMC Terrain; Jeep Compass and Mitsubishi Outlander earn good ratings in the passenger-side small overlap front test. The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport earns a marginal rating, and the Ford Escape earns poor. For the 2018 model year, the Equinox shed weight to join the small SUV size class. Earlier models were classified as midsize.
None of the newly rated 2018 models earns better than acceptable marks for structure. (The Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5 are the only small SUVs evaluated so far to earn good ratings for structure in the passenger-side small overlap front test.) The Outlander Sport is marginal, and the Escape is rated poor. Both the Outlander Sport and Escape allowed too much intrusion into the occupant compartment on the right side.

Originally, this recording was never meant to be presented as a actual song but just with me goofing around with my music gear and my guitar "The DOG" just after I picked him up from the music pound. It started soon after my new friend at the time who hooked me up with the gear that I now use, must have thought that I was telling dog tales when I told him that punks used to brag that they would know someone who could blow me away with their guitar skills and I have never seen the day to which that has happened. I don't possess any particular guitar skills but when I put the Dog on my lap, he doesn't act like a traditional lapdog and he doesn't take kindly to strangers. Especially to cats who try to invade and rule the house. Well, a few days later he brought a 16 year old cat going by the name of Brandon...or Brendon along with some other cats to watch the event as B Boy was supposed to blow me away with his PRODIGY SKILLS. It was amazing to watch the boy perform Beethoven stuff and the kind of stuff you see on Youtube.
After he played his act with my Dog, he then handed the Dog over to me..."Hey hey..chuckle chuckle" ...I don't walk the Dog...He walk's me...I just tickle his neck and belly and then he'll pull off his Dog tricks to which I have no control over. I explained to my friend later that there's more to playing the guitar than just sitting a dog on your lap to perform tricks. You've gotta have some music to back you up to see how your dog keeps up with the beat and so I made this song up to show him how that's done. I made this one up real fast and tried singing for the first time and arranging vocal parts and just talked about whatever came to mind and just let the Dog do whatever he wanted to do. This is about as raw as it get's. The whole song took me about a week to do.
