After successful exploration runs in 2013 and 2015 the Dutch polar cruise company Oceanwide Expeditions has announced two new expeditions to the Ross Sea in 2017. The ice-strengthened vessel “Ortelius” will be accommodated with helicopters for the two Antarctica cruises, sailing from the South-American continent to the Antarctic Peninsula, crossing the Polar Circle, further west to Peter I Island, sailing in the Bellingshausen sea along the ice-edge of “deep Antarctica” into the Ross Sea. The voyage continues to the uninhabited sub-Antarctic Campbell Island and ends after 32 days in New Zealand. The second cruise offers the same itinerary, but in reverse.
The Ross Sea Challenge
The Ross Sea region of Antarctica has always presented a dream but also a challenge to visit to explorers. The Ross Ice Shelf prevents a full seasonal operation and distances are enormous. Apart from the extremes, landing sites are still difficult to reach. “With the advantages of the “Ortelius” in combination with the use of helicopters, our travelers are having some great opportunities exploring Antarctica’s most fascinating sites”, says CEO Michel van Gessel.

Anytime Fitness, the world’s largest and fastest-growing co-ed fitness club chain, announced today the opening of its 2,000th club in The Netherlands. Founded in 2002, it took Anytime Fitness only 10 years to reach the 2,000-unit mark, less than half as long as other well-known franchises like Subway (23 years) and McDonald’s (32 years).
“Some businesses focus on quick growth and others specialize in earning customer loyalty,” said Chuck Runyon, Anytime Fitness CEO and co-founder. “We take great pride in having achieved both of those accomplishments simultaneously. We’ve done so by focusing first on the needs of busy people who simply want to lead a healthier lifestyle and then by providing our franchisees with the practical tools, technology and educational support to help members achieve their goals.”

Beringer Vineyards, one of the most acclaimed producers in Napa Valley, announces the launch of Better Beckons, its 2016 multichannel advertising campaign inspired by hand-holding, Instagram sensations Murad and Nataly Osmann. Known for shooting breathtaking photographs of his wife leading him all over the world, Murad has captured the brand’s promise to “bring the better” to consumers in a series of campaign visuals that evoke Beringer’s authentic American heritage.
Beringer Vineyards was founded in 1876 by two brothers from Germany, Jacob and Frederick Beringer, who built their legacy on the pioneering belief that great wine could be made in Napa. Today, one of California’s most iconic wineries known for quality at a variety of price points, Beringer’s storied heritage is rooted in the spirit of American optimism - the belief that the best has yet to come.
“Better Beckons is a natural extension of my photography style, as it invites viewers to experience authentic and unique moments,” observed Osmann, creative director behind the campaign. “Photographing material from a first-person perspective is ideal to capture one’s own sense of curiosity and create an optimistic view that suggests there is more to be seen.”
