The Hangzhou Tourism Commission (HTC) announces the official launch of a social media campaign called, Global Tour 2015, which will send one U.S. and one Chinese family, along with a media “Storyteller,” on a free 30-day trip around the globe from July 24th through August 22nd.
The campaign was created to promote U.S. travel to a destination emerging on the global stage: Hangzhou, China, known for its beauty, perfect blend of traditional and modern Chinese experiences, and has become China’s top launch pad for tech start-ups, including home of e-commerce giant, Alibaba.

Walgreens and the National Urban League announce the return of the Walgreens Wellness Tour with the National Urban League. For the ninth year, Walgreens and the National Urban League are joining together for this community outreach program dedicated to providing free preventative and early detection health services to urban and at-risk communities across the country. Developers of the award-winning Edmunds app recently broke from their usual work to produce “DrivePromise by Edmunds,” a free app that allows Apple Watch and iPhone owners to make and keep a promise to focus on the road while driving. When the device detects that it is in a moving vehicle, it pops up an uploaded photo of a loved one along with a reminder to drive safely. The app keeps count of all of the user’s safe drives to share with friends and family.

The largest Memorial Day observance in the United States happens on the beach in Honolulu, Hawaii with the Lantern Floating Hawaii 2015 ceremony, presented by Shinnyo-en, an international Buddhist community with Japanese roots, and the locally based Nā Lei Aloha Foundation. The ceremony takes place on Memorial Day, May 25, 2015. It is non-denominational and free to the public to attend.
