“One of my earliest boxing memories is sitting on the ring apron at the Repton Boxing Club watching my older brothers train. Sitting there, ringside with my Dad, I couldn't wait for it to be my turn. By the time I was old enough to start training I already knew how to hold my hands in the correct position and throw a number of combinations (my brothers had shown me how and I practiced at every opportunity!). I remember my first fight. I was 11 years old. Sitting in the dressing room, there were about 15 other young boxers getting ready too. Everyone was asking each other, who are you fighting, who are you fighting. There was this one big guy sitting in the corner wrapping his hands. Someone asked him, Hey, who are you fighting, Someone called A. Lee he said with a shrug. That's when I knew I was in for a rough night! As I stood in the corridor before my ring entrance, my stomach was in knots, to say I was nervous would've been an understatement! Walking to the ring, I looked across at my family, the whole clan had turned out to support me. I remember thinking to myself, I don't care how big this guy is I’m not losing this fight! As Britain prepares for a summer of sport, Steve Backley, former javelin world record holder and Olympian turned business motivator and author, calls on British businesses to encourage competition, following two polls showing many embrace competition at work.
The first report, carried out by The National Business Awards in partnership with Orange, shows that 65% of workers agree winning is important to them, with over two thirds believing healthy competition brings out the best in people and almost 40% acknowledging they enjoy a competitive environment at work. However, many employees say competitiveness is not encouraged in their workplace enough.
Over 40% say being rewarded for their achievements at work encourages them to ‘up their game’, yet nearly 60% said they are not praised enough by bosses when they do well at work. Over half of the workers canvassed also said they would like to feel part of a winning business and would be proud if their place of work was recognised by winning an external award.

The aluminum-body 2015 Ford F-150 crew cab swept the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s full slate of crashworthiness evaluations to qualify for a 2015 TOP SAFETY PICK award. The F-150 extended cab turned in a good performance in 4 of 5 assessments but stumbled in the small overlap front test. The results are the first ratings for large pickups in a group the Institute is evaluating this year.
The F-150 crew cab, which Ford calls the SuperCrew, earns good ratings for occupant protection in all five IIHS crashworthiness evaluations — small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint evaluations. The extended cab, or SuperCab, earns good ratings in the moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint evaluations but just a marginal rating for occupant protection in a small overlap front crash.

As an addition to the social responsibility project it started for sheltering street animals, the lucky address for shopping, n11.com, has now redesigned its delivery boxes, turning them into portable "homes" that can protect animals living on the streets from the harsh conditions of winter.
Contributing to the e-trade sector with its innovative activities, n11.com has completed the design work that it has been conducting in the last period, turning its delivery boxes into portable "homes" for street animals.
The special boxes were designed to especially endure cold weather conditions and were produced after approximately a year of Research and Development efforts. From now on, shoppers who order pet food on n11.com will be contributing to providing street dogs and cats with a warm home.

“I think one of the biggest problems with the veterans coming back – myself included – is that you’re so used to that institutionalized way of life,” says Brock Horner, 25, a US Army veteran who served 15 months in Afghanistan with Chosen Company, 2nd Battalion Airborne, 503rd Infantry in Kabul Province. “You always have things set in stone and always have a set schedule that someone else makes for you. When you come home, a switch is turned off, and you don’t have that anymore. You have to do it all yourself, so it’s completely different and overwhelming.”
