Primrose Schools®, a national high-quality early education and care provider, raised more than $773,000 for local and national children’s charities in 2017, breaking its previous record by more than $53,000. More than 350 Primrose preschools across the U.S. contributed to this effort, demonstrating the company’s mission to forge a path that leads to a brighter future for all children.
Last year, more than 55,000 preschool children and their families – in addition to Primrose National Leadership Support Team members, Franchise Owners, teachers and staff – participated in a variety of fundraising efforts throughout the year. These initiatives are part of the company’s Primrose PromiseSM corporate social responsibility program, which was founded in 2014 and represents the company’s commitment to make a difference in the lives of all children, especially those at greatest risk.

When Hurricane Sandy ravaged the East Coast last October, it not only left thousands of miles of devastation, but it also uprooted the lives of all in its path – including millions of pets.
PetSmart Charities’ Emergency Relief team sprang into action to help more than 60,000 displaced pets in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, West Virginia and Maryland. Sherrie Buzby, a photojournalist for PetSmart Charities and New Jersey native, captured this unique relief effort in photos.

Millennials are now the largest living generation in the country. One of the most studied and analyzed generations, millennials are now becoming parents. According to a Goldman Sachs Global Investment Research report published in 2015, 43 percent of children age 0-17 had millennial parents in 2014, and this figure is expected to exceed 50 percent in 2016. A new independent survey of U.S. households, supported by Connections Education, found that millennials are supportive of alternative approaches to education, with three-fourths of millennial parents (77 percent) saying a DIY approach to education, in which learners craft a path to graduation that best fits their needs, is a good idea.
