Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc., the nation’s largest barbecue chain, is proud to announce the kick-off of their new foundation, Barbecue, Boots & Badges, a foundation committed to leaving a footprint on the communities they serve by providing funding and resources to law enforcement, firefighters and their families.

Initial funding for Barbecue, Boots and Badges will coincide with the national launch of Dickey’s new line of potato chips. Guests can try the new chips and give back to the new charity on March 1 when they are available nationwide. The artisan crafted potato chips come in three bold flavors -- original, barbecue and jalapeno cheddar.

The Dallas Cowboys will kick off the 124th annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign when the Jones family makes this season’s first official kettle donation at halftime of the nationally televised Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game on FOX against the Philadelphia Eagles. For the past 18 years, the Dallas Cowboys have helped The Salvation Army kick off the campaign, which has raised more than $1.8 billion in that time.

When I think of “Country”, I think of holding onto things passed down, going to Grandma and Grandpa’s on Sundays to watch TV and socialize as a family, playing Kick the Can with anyone who could still run, picking a guitar under an old oak tree surrounded by farm land, but more importantly ~ family. Food Lion today pledged to donate 500 million meals to families in need by the end of 2020 through its new community relations platform, Food Lion Feeds, which will focus on hunger relief. To mark the launch of Food Lion Feeds and kick off its new commitment, the grocer will donate 1 million meals in five days between June 9 and June 13 as part of a Week of Giving.
