As the country celebrates the 45th anniversary of Earth Day, Dallas-based nonprofit Earth Day Texas gears up for its fifth annual event. Founded in 2011, the organization expects more than 75,000 attendees during the three-day event.
Earth Day Texas takes place April 24, 25 and 26 at historic Fair Park in Dallas.
Confirmed speakers include Karenna Gore, author and daughter of Al Gore; Bill White, former mayor of Houston; David Yarnold, president of the Audubon Society; Dan Patrick, Lt. This Saturday, Dec. 12 marks what would have been the 100th birthday of legendary performer Frank Sinatra. While it has been several decades since the man with the unmistakable blue eyes commanded the stage at iconic venues up and down the Las Vegas Strip, it is undeniable that his presence and impact are still felt.
The momentous centennial celebration brought many of those who knew Sinatra best back to Las Vegas, his home away from home, including his youngest daughter, Tina Sinatra, and granddaughter, Amanda Erlinger. The pair spoke on a variety of Sinatra’s brightest Las Vegas performances, his favorite Las Vegas hot spots and how Sinatra would perceive the transformation of the glittering Strip into the Las Vegas of today.
“Any trip to Las Vegas with my dad was always great, always eventful,” shared Tina Sinatra, smiling over memories from her childhood visits to Las Vegas to watch her father perform. “He was born to play Las Vegas; some say he made Las Vegas.”

Ulmart’s stunning growth continues unabated as sales for the first six months of 2014 were up 31% in a year-on-year comparison. Sequential quarterly growth increased by 47%.
Ulmart’s half year results put the company at just below GMV of $610 million (VAT included). The company is forecasting GMV of $1.6 billion for the whole year which would put year-end sales at 33% higher than 2013.
Ulmart’s hybrid model which allows customer access to company’s fulfillments centers (currently there are 29 in the European part of Russia) continues to be a disruptive element in e-retail. Due to the particularities of the Russian infrastructure, reliance on last-mile delivery, the obsession of so many other world e-commerce leaders, is simply not a profit-creating option in Russia.
