The Pick A Powder Campaign Launches Its Funniest Video Yet – 6-foot-6 Trace Adkins Trying to Get Into Richard Petty’s No. 43 Stock Car
Memphis, TN/Concord, NC – Country music superstar Trace Adkins, and racing legend and NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty are at it again. The humorous rivalry videos where they are shown in each other’s world are now appearing online as part of the Pick A Powder Program. The one launching this week shows 6-foot-6 Trace attempting to get into Richard Petty’s No. 43 stock car. Since the campaign started, they have been going back and forth with each other on Facebook and in videos, all in an effort to get the most fans on their team and to show they experience more pain than the other.
BC Powder and Goody’s Headache Powders, the brands Adkins and Petty represent, are going head-to-head in an online contest. The BC and Goody’s “Pick A Powder” campaign plays off the fierce and generational loyalty users have to either Goody’s or BC. The relative strength of the global hotel sector can be seen as an indicator of a potential turnaround in the economic outlook with the average price of a room around the world rising 4% in 2011, according to the latest Hotels.com® Hotel Price Index™ (HPI®). The continuing strength in corporate travel, in particular, helped to push up demand and room rates, although prices were still generally lower than in 2005.
The HPI looks at prices that people actually paid for their hotel room around the world. Last year, prices fell 2% in Asia year-on-year but rose in all other areas: 8% in the Pacific, 5% in North America, 4% in Latin America, 3% in the Caribbean and 2% in Europe and the Middle East. The overall increase reflected a continuing trend of steady recovery after a 13% tumble in 2009.

SCAD’s second annual deFINE ART, which ran Feb. 22 - 26, attracted thousands of visitors. deFINE ART featured lectures by prominent figures in the art world, special exhibitions, commissions, student showcases, performances and other events, all of which were free and open to the public.
As one of the highlights of this year’s programming, deFINE ART honored performance artist Marina Abramović for her groundbreaking work and influence on contemporary art. Her keynote lecture was given at SCAD’s locations in both Savannah and Atlanta. Abramović’s solo exhibition remains on view through April 3 at the university's Pinnacle Gallery in Savannah, featuring three videos and an iconic photographic series.
