With the U.S. Open Snowboarding finals this weekend, Olympic snowboarding champion Hannah Teter teams up with other professional athletes to fight child poverty through Children International, a U.S.-based humanitarian organization.
The two-time medalist was joined by Burton Team Snowboarder Gabi Viteri and Nike 6.0 surfer Monyca Byrne-Wickey recently to visit Children International’s agency in Guadalajara, Mexico, to learn more about the needs of impoverished children there and how Children International’s sponsorship program meets the needs of those children.

A child’s inspirational artwork for a holiday card will drive awareness, donations and hope in the fight against childhood cancer as the centerpiece of a new digital holiday campaign launching today by Northwestern Mutual. What can I say about this one that I haven't said before? ....... "SCOOBY DOOBY DOO DOOWAH" ..... I don't think that I've ever said that before on any of my prior songs ..... Maybe I said "Zippity Doo Da" or "Yabba Dabba Doo." ...... BabyCenter.com, the #1 pregnancy and parenting digital resource, today released its 2016 U.S. Cost of Raising a Child report, which examines the rising cost of having a baby. More than 1,100 BabyCenter moms completed the survey, which found that parents spend an average of $13,000 per year on each child.
In 2016, 7 out of 10 moms say they are worried about having enough money to raise their kids – a 5 percent increase since last year. BabyCenter also found that 9 out of 10 moms are in debt and nearly 4 in 10 don’t see a day when they will be entirely debt free. Also, 1 in 4 is receiving financial aid from a parent or family member, and 1 in 3 is experiencing relationship issues with their partner due to working longer or irregular hours.

A baby’s birth day is the most dangerous day of life — in the United States and almost every country in the world — according to Save the Children’s State of the World’s Mothers report, released today.
Yearly, more than 1 million babies die the day they are born, according to the first global analysis of newborn day-of-death data.
In addition to newborn findings, the report features Save the Children’s Mothers’ Index, released annually before Mother’s Day. It ranks Finland as the best place in the world to be a mother, and Democratic Republic of the Congo as the toughest. The United States ranks 30th best.
