The EU’s cyber security agency, ENISA, has issued its final report on the first Pan-European cyber security exercise for public bodies, 'Cyber Europe 2010'. The report underlines the need for more cyber security exercises in the future, increased collaboration between the Member States and the importance of the private sector in ensuring IT security. Eighty-five percent of building owners and operators globally depend on energy management to drive operational efficiency, according to a survey released today by Johnson Controls, global leader in delivering solutions that increase energy efficiency in buildings. This represents a 34-point increase in the last two years. Energy cost savings and financial incentives are leading this shift, but more than half say they are also looking to improve their public image and increase the value of their buildings. Seattle – The EMP Museum board of directors announced today that EMP is now the Museum of Pop Culture – MoPOP. The name MoPOP better reflects the museum’s vision for curating, exploring, and supporting creative works that shape and inspire our lives across many aspects of our culture. The EU Regulation on Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) places new legal obligations on chemical companies operating in the EU market. By 1 December 2010, they are required to classify and label their hazardous substances according to the CLP rules. Industry has to notify the classification and labelling of substances placed on the market to a central database, called the Classification & Labelling Inventory. The database is established and maintained by ECHA. The first deadline for notification is 3 January 2011.
