Chef Leonard and his team were silver medalist winner at this years IGEHO culinary competitions, chef Leonard in the team manager of the Cercle des Chef de Cuisine de Luzern culinary team (www.cccl.ch), and together with Chef Schwarzenbach the team captain, the team claimed a silver medal awarded by the Swiss Culinary federation (www.kochverband.ch). Next year the team will organize Gala Dinners with Stadt de genusse which is for 2010 in Luzern, as well as taking part in Zagg (Luzern) and Expogast (Luxemburg) culinary competitions. In presence of Russia\'s President Dimitri Medvedev the official ceremony for the laying of the Nord Stream pipeline took place in the Russian town of Vyborg. Roughly two 1220 km pipelines will be laid on the bed of the Baltic Sea between the Russian town of Vyborg and the German town of Lubmin. More than 200.000 single pipes need to be welded together, each of the 12 m long pipes has a diameter of 1,4 m and weighs about 24 tons. With start of the heating season 2011 the first gas will flow through the pipeline.
The Board of Royal Dutch Shell plc (Shell) has taken the final investment decision on the Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) Project in Australia (100% Shell), building the world's first FLNG facility. Moored far out to sea, some 200 kilometres from the nearest land in Australia, the FLNG facility will produce gas from offshore fields, and liquefy it onboard by cooling.
The decision means that Shell is now ready to start detailed design and construction of what will be the world's largest floating offshore facility, in a ship yard in South Korea.

The total investment of 7.4 billion euro shows the importance of the project for the entire European economic system. The Food Safe Families campaign was announced this morning by USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack and HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in time for the July 4th holiday and the start of summer when foodborne illnesses tend to increase—a time when many families celebrate with food. It’s also a time when foodborne illnesses tend to increase with more outdoor meals, and other factors that increase the risk for disease-causing bacteria in food.
