The nation’s largest provider of senior living solutions is offering tips for those who are concerned about showing signs of memory loss. These guidelines come along with Alzheimer’s Awareness month, celebrated each year in November.
“Here at Brookdale, we have a simple formula for people who may be worried about memory loss as it relates to Alzheimer’s and dementia, whether for themselves or for a loved one,” said Kelly Scott Lindstrom, Vice President of Dementia Care for Brookdale.
According to Lindstrom, three steps can help a person prepare for a potential Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
First, know the signs of Alzheimer’s disease. There are 10 common signs, and just because an individual may exhibit a couple of them doesn’t mean he or she has developed dementia.
Next, talk with your doctor, and he or she can help decipher a potential diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or if it is something unrelated.

Five international apprentices visited global construction and mining equipment manufacturer XCMG's headquarters in Xuzhou, China for a one-week immersive XCMG Apprentice Program from January 18 to 24.
The program was the company's first time bringing global apprentices to China; five apprentices from the United States, Brazil, Russia, Kenya and Pakistan stood out from a global selection.
The participants came from different backgrounds but shared the same interest towards the construction and machinery industry. In addition to the comprehensive tour led by XCMG employees that included visits to the crane assembly factory and Asia's largest vibration and noise lab, as well as engaging activities like operating excavators, the apprentices also acted as their mentors' assistants, learning about the state-of-the-art technologies in construction machineries through a day's work.
"XCMG has a keen focus on cultivating talents and encouraging communication through educational programs like XCMG Apprentice, which has introduced XCMG's technological and innovational achievements to the international community," said Wang Min, chairman and president of XCMG.

United Airlines today will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the airline’s Terminal C hub facility at Newark Liberty International Airport, one of the world’s most modern airport terminals and the cornerstone of the original and largest New York/New Jersey airline hub.
Travelers arriving and departing at Newark Liberty today will join United employees in an anniversary celebration between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the upper level United Airlines ticket counter, where customers will have opportunities to earn prizes, travel discounts and bonus MileagePlus miles, and see the airline’s new uniforms for the first time. In the wake of the horrific winter wildfires in Gatlinburg and the surrounding area, thousands of residents were displaced, many of whom lost their homes. Clayton, one of the nation’s largest builders of manufactured and modular homes, has helped one family in their efforts to recover from the tragedy by guiding them through their home buying process and delivering a new home to the family less than two months after the wildfires destroyed their old home.
Clayton produced a video highlighting the plight of Sandra and Trevor Cates, whose original Clayton home was destroyed in the fires. In the video, the Cates discuss the night of Nov. 28, when the fire took their home and many of the buildings in the Gatlinburg area. The family discusses evacuating Gatlinburg, how organizations and volunteers rallied to help support victims of the fires and the process for getting into a new home through a local Clayton home center.

The RCS Engineers Rocketry Team from Russellville, Ala., beat out 100 competitors to claim first place at the National Finals of the 2015 Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC).
