Finding yourself stranded in your car due to treacherous conditions like snow, ice, poor visibility and slick roads only to discover you have junk in the trunk, rather than the necessary roadside emergency supplies, can place you and your family in jeopardy.
According to a new survey by State Farm® and KRC Research, more than 60 percent of drivers had some sort of “junk” (non-emergency supplies) in their trunk ranging from extra clothes and shoes to used food or drink containers. While 99 percent of drivers had at least one emergency supply in their vehicle, such as spare tire or jumper cables, a mere nine percent carried all the essential emergency roadside supplies.

Just in time for Orangutan Caring Week, Audubon Zoo has raised the curtain on its new habitat for the critically endangered primates.
Audubon’s family of Sumatran orangutans recently moved to their new Asian Domain home. The expanded exhibit provides three times as much space as their former facility in the World of Primates.
New features include a moat, a cascading waterfall, palm trees and climbing structures that soar up to 45 feet, significantly taller than before. From the highest point, the orangutans have a panoramic view of much of the zoo and even boats as they cruise along the Mississippi River.
“Orangutans are the largest arboreal animals on the planet,” said curator of Primates Courtney Eparvier. “And this gives them increased opportunity to exhibit their natural behaviors.”

Pretty much the kitchen sink with everything that I've been learning since listening to Electronic, Ambient and Dub-step music to put together my home made Electronic stew with just a pinch of paprika. We owned a 2013 Tesla Model S for 18 months and despite numerous dealer visits and maintenance issues, we were ultimately sad to see it go. It's quick, comfortable, quiet, spacious, and can tote as much cargo as some crossover SUVs. The "85" version can go 265 miles on a charge, so range anxiety is a nonissue. We even drove ours from L.A. to New York in less than three days using Tesla's free Supercharger quick-charge network. We definitely have gripes, including some underwhelming interior trim pieces and a lack of small item storage. There's also the below-average reliability, although our dealer experiences were exceptional. So even though it's not perfect, the Model S remains our favorite electric car.

Kia's first real foray into the electric vehicle world is a success. In fact, the funky Soul is arguably more appealing when it swaps out its internal combustion engine for an electric motor. Substantial changes last year vaulted the Toyota Camry Hybrid onto our top-recommended list. Although it doesn't quite match the fuel economy of some competitors, the real-world cost of that difference is negligible. Plus, dismissing the Camry simply because of an mpg or two would mean missing out on an otherwise compelling sedan. Comfort remains a Camry priority, but this latest Camry Hybrid also handles pretty well.
