The everyday life we all lead is frenetic and overcome by millions of stimuli; there is never enough time or peace. Zazen Bear, a new Zen retail concept store at 497 Broome Street, wants to help New Yorkers find their moment of inner peace.
Through a carefully crafted collection of products that range from jewelry to home furnishing, Zazen Bear offers a unique retail experience that starts when entering the 2,400 sq. ft. store. Spread out on two floors, connected by an open staircase and a harmonious live-plant vertical garden, visitors are lead through the three interlocked circular rooms into a voyage of discovery and sensory exploration.
Inspired by the idea that everything and everybody is connected, each item is carefully crafted to evoke a sense of harmony, relaxation and tranquility when touched, worn or used to decorate the home. Incorporating precious materials like diamonds, sapphires, gold and silver the jewelry collection spans from the Connected Ring Series (starting at $213.00 to $354.00) designed to represent the connection of the mind and the universe where our inner self intersects with the world around us; the Zazen bear monogram earrings featuring the iconic bear that represents harmony and inner peace (starting at $118.00 to $306.00); the Posey Bracelets of Balance, Meditation and Calm designed as a reminder to seek these three elements in the day (starting at $815.00); the Inner Stellar necklace a reminder to embrace the constellation of stars that represents our dreams and aspirations (starting at $538.00 to $931.00).

For many pet parents, the hot and humid summer weather brings pet hydration top of mind, but do many know the benefits of proper hydration all year round? PetSafe® brand is sponsoring Pet Hydration Month this July to educate pet parents about the importance of proper hydration.
“Our pets need one ounce of water per pound of body weight each day,” said Willie Wallace, CEO of Radio Systems® Corporation, makers of the PetSafe brand. “Proper hydration plays a big role in a pet’s health and can save pet parents a trip to their vet’s office.”
Similar to humans, the bodies of our pets consist of mostly water, making proper daily water intake extremely important.

PetSafe® brand is offering pet parents an affordable, effective way to allow their pets to play safely in their yard with its new Free to Roam Wireless Fence™ system.
Traditional above-ground fences cost thousands of dollars and may not be an option for people living in rental properties. The PetSafe Free to Roam Wireless Fence provides a convenient solution for a fraction of the cost of traditional fencing.
The PetSafe Free to Roam Wireless Fence covers a circular area of up to half an acre or 180 feet in diameter. The boundaries can be adjusted from 5-90 feet in all directions of the indoor transmitter. Since the system is completely wireless, there are no unsightly cables to bury – simply plug the transmitter into a standard outlet.
“Our new Free to Roam Wireless Fence system is made with pets and owners in mind,” said Marcus Wolf, category manager for PetSafe Containment and Avoidance products. “A wireless fence gives pet parents peace of mind to let their dogs safely enjoy their yard. It makes it easy and fun for pets and their parents to enjoy fresh air and exercise.”

On World Mental Health Day, Janssen has announced the results of a pan-European research project: ‘Talking About Treatment in Schizophrenia: A Patient and Carer Survey’. The survey of 166 adults living with schizophrenia and 468 carers was conducted by the independent market research agency, Fieldwork International (part of Ipsos MORI), and explored awareness, feelings and preferences regarding treatment.
The survey, conducted across 12 countries in Europe (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK), highlighted key factors affecting the peace of mind for carers, such as the impact of the condition on day‑to-day life, potential relapse/hospitalisation and getting support beyond medication. 94% stated they reminded the person they care for to take their medication and for 49% this happens often.

When the mid-afternoon rolls around, many of us wouldn’t mind curling up in bed and taking a nap. In fact, a recent study conducted by GfK’s KnowledgePanel® found that one-third of Americans say they feel drowsy, less productive and worn out several times a week, at an average of 2:58 pm.
This afternoon crash can be improved with the help of a healthy snack like almonds. Together, California Almonds and actress Anna Camp have partnered to ensure Americans can “Carpe PM” – or “seize the afternoon” -- and crunch their crash.
