With the new addition, Hurricane Harbor will boast 20 acres and offer more slides and attractions than any other water park in the state.
Riptide Bay features four new daring slides with first-of-its-kind Skybox drops. Bombs away as the floor drops out from beneath you and you free-fall five stories into Dive Bomber’s loop or speed down Mega Wedgie’s 80 degree plunge. Race your friends and family on twin versions. New Riptide Bay features also include the only place to surf on Lake Michigan with Surf Rider, a 5-foot-wave surfing simulator, and Monsoon Lagoon, a 14,000 square foot activity pool complete with waterfalls and interactive spray elements. SkyScreamer, the newest sensation in swing rides, has taken flight at Six Flags St.Louis! Famed pilot Erik Lindbergh and Wings of Hope pilots took the inaugural first flight. Standing at 236-feet, SkyScreamer is the tallest ride in the park and the centerpiece of Six Flags St. Louis' 40th anniversary season.
Each of the double, open air swings provides a front row seat for the 32 guests that climb to the top of the SkyScreamer during each flight. Spinning round and round, with feet dangling, guests soar in a 98-ft. circle at speeds up to 43 mph. The massive "world" globe that sits atop the bright, multicolored SkyScreamer tower can be seen from miles away. SkyScreamer is the first swing ride manufactured by Funtime to be built in the United States. Funtime is based in Austria and has been a leader in unique thrill rides since 1972.

King Cobra, America’s first cobra-themed, racing tube slide, today bares its venomous fangs at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor.
King Cobra’s unique configuration enables two tubes to race through a circular path with twists, turns and surprises through enclosed and open sections of the slide at speeds up to 32 miles per hour. The ride’s finale features a sudden, 25-foot plunge at a 50-degree angle with riders racing until the heart-pounding finish as they appear to be swallowed by the massive jaws of the cobra.

Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast was introduced at Six Flags St. Louis today with St. Louis Cardinal and World Series MVP David Freese on-hand for the first official ride. Eighteen members of Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Louis joined Freese for the inaugural launch-ride on the park’s newest twist to one of its most popular thrill rides. Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast sends riders backwards through a 190-foot tunnel, into a 180-degree inversion, then climbs more than 200-feet in the air where they will find themselves suspended, dangling in the air, before repeating the entire chilling experience.
“I have been coming to Six Flags since I was a kid and the roller coasters have always been my favorite,” said Freese. “I was really excited to ride Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast. The backwards launch and experience of going up the tower facing straight down is a real rush.”
