Camp Liberté – Summer camp for children with skin disorders
This one-week summer camp run by volunteer dermatologists and nurses enrolled children aged 7 to 12 with moderate-to-severe skin disorders, as well as their families, to bring them together for support, social interaction and to increase their confidence. All the activities aim to increase patients’ confidence and self-esteem, improve social skills, reduce stigma about their condition and improve adherence to treatment.

Each of the six episodes will feature Colombian adventurer Daniel Tirado and Mexican army veteran Alberto Pegueros surviving in extremely remote wild Aztec lands and putting their skills and knowledge into practice in order to make their way back to civilization safe and sound. Together, they have to avoid danger, predators, and find food, water and shelter. However, conflicts are not only limited to wilderness, and each man’s survival skills might not always match those of his partner, so combining techniques and living together could become the greatest of challenges for both men.

Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and eCornell have launched new on-demand training in service excellence targeting front-line employees. The training consists of eight online lessons, all of which are available 24/7, and is complemented by a Workshop Guide to promote onsite, face-to-face discussion and application of the online lesson concepts. The training explores the foundations of service delivery and empowers employees through practical tools that can be applied to any situation involving internal or external customers.
Service Excellence On-Demand Training provides groups and organizations with a straightforward framework to increase effectiveness for all customer interactions. Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine, host of Food Network’s Restaurant: Impossible, announced today that he is teaming up with Tropicana Las Vegas to open his first signature restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip. At the press conference, the exterior of the Tropicana Las Vegas came to life, where a high-energy video showed the crowd what they can expect to see from the newest chef in town. In true Robert Irvine fashion, the celebrity chef made his entrance by rappelling 22 stories (220 feet) down the exterior of the Tropicana hotel to the assembled press below.

Automotive tech students from 17 Toronto-area high schools tested their knowledge and mechanical aptitude in a high-octane skills competition organized by Centennial College recently. The two-member student teams had 120 minutes to diagnose and repair 10 new Volkswagen Jettas rigged with identical operating problems by Centennial\'s School of Transportation instructors.
More than 17,000 women volunteers will come together starting Saturday in their local communities to help build or improve affordable homes alongside future homeowners as part of Habitat for Humanity and Lowe’s 10th annual National Women Build Week. With the help of Lowe’s Heroes volunteers, they will build or improve 600 Habitat homes in nearly 50 states in just one week.
Lowe’s helped launch National Women Build Week in 2008 to empower women with construction skills and give them a platform to tackle affordable homeownership in their communities.
