Volvo Cars is looking ahead to when its drivers can sit back and enjoy free time in their car on the daily commute.
At the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Volvo revealed that it is developing intelligent, high bandwidth, streaming capabilities with its technology partner, Ericsson, that will ensure drivers and passengers get the most out of their time travelling in an autonomous Volvo.
“We recently unveiled our design vision for fully autonomous cars with Concept 26. Now we are actively working on future solutions to deliver the best user experience in fully autonomous mode. Imagine a highway full of autonomous cars with their occupants sitting back watching their favourite TV shows in high definition. This new way of commuting will demand new technology, and a much broader bandwidth to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience,” said Anders Tylman General Manager Volvo Monitoring & Concept Center at Volvo Car Group.

To motivate parents and their children to spend more time in nature together, the U.S. Forest Service and the Ad Council today launched a new public service advertisement (PSA) campaign urging families to experience the many wonders of nature close to home together.
The PSAs, created in partnership with The Foundry, Time Inc.’s state-of-the-art creative lab and content studio, focus on family time in nearby forested environments, reminding parents that having a nature experience with their children is not only easy and local, but also fun and full of learning opportunities and benefits. This is the first time that the Ad Council has worked with the creative division of a media company that has iconic roots in publishing on a large-scale production on behalf of one of its PSA campaigns. A range of Time Inc. properties are also donating print and digital advertising space in support of this campaign.

When asked how they feel about mixing their work and personal lives, 58% of Generation Mobile workers feel guilty, according to new research from MobileIron. The MobileIron Gen M Survey, a global study of more than 3,500 full- and part-time professionals who use a mobile device for work, highlights an emerging demographic in the workplace: Generation Mobile or “Gen M.” The study found that Gen M, which is composed of mobile workers who are either men age 18-34 or people with children under age 18 in their households, relies more heavily on mobile technologies than the general population to mix their work and personal activities.

Utica College President Todd S. Hutton announced today that the College is resetting the on-campus undergraduate tuition price beginning Fall 2016. The new tuition price will be under $20,000, and the college will continue to offer both need-based and merit-based financial aid to lower the cost to qualified students and their families even further.
“We consider this tuition reset to be a bold move for tomorrow,” Dr. Hutton says, “because in improving affordability, we are also expanding access to a high quality Utica College education that launches our students’ successful futures.”
The tuition reset comes at a time when private colleges and universities throughout the nation are taking a hard look at their pricing system. Many college-bound students and their families do not realize that the full price will likely be deeply discounted for them by a private college, and so they experience “sticker shock” upon seeing the published price.

It is time for a new New Testament. In February of 2012, a council of scholars and spiritual leaders, convened by religious scholar Hal Taussig, came together to discuss, debate, and reconsider which books belong in the New Testament. As I'm approaching the time of certain eviction, I've been proving to myself what a little pressure can do to get the creative juices flowing and I am somewhat amazed by how quickly I have been creating and organizing enough videos that would have normally stretched out the span of this year and probably throughout 2014, all inside the time frame of a month. Particularly in the case of this song which is one of several songs that I have been working on that are somewhat more complex and exhibit my full potential as a musician. This song would have normally taken me a full year to compose and like some of my other prouder creations, I figured that there just was no time left for me to complete this kind of composition. Although admittedly I did rough it as I wrapped up the song in a day and took about one hour on the video but I think that with this one, I have successfully achieved my goal. I can always redo this at a later time when I get resettled and back in the groove.
