Kilimanjaro Education Foundation (KEF), in conjunction with Powering Potential, announced an installation today at the Noonkodin School of a solar energy system and an Ubuntu computer network to bring modern education tools to the school.

The Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf earn the highest safety ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in the first-ever U.S. crash test evaluations of plug-in electric cars. GIVE HEALTH partners with the non-profit P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program (CSDW) to provide PUR packets in developing countries. These packets, developed by P&G and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, use some of the same ingredients as municipal water systems to remove pollutants from contaminated water. Since 2004, CSDW has provided more than 3 billion liters of water to children in need in over 60 countries.

Rising food prices are causing poor children and families in developing countries to sink deeper into hunger and malnutrition, according to Children International, a leading U.S.-based humanitarian organization.
According to the Food and Agriculture Organization, 925 million people around the world go hungry each day compared to 848 million in 2007. Today's SUVs and pickups pose far less risk to people in cars and minivans than previous generations, a new study from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety shows. Until recently, SUVs and pickups were more likely than cars or minivans of the same weight to be involved in crashes that killed occupants of other cars or minivans. That's no longer the case for SUVs, and for pickups the higher risk is much less pronounced than it had been.
We teach children how to cross a street and what to eat. We warn them not to talk to strangers. Pella Windows and Doors is asking parents and caregivers to also add fire and window safety to the key lessons they pass on to children.
