An Extra-Ordinary Beginning, the debut novel by A.D. Winch about a new kind of superhero, is out now. Children and adults around the world who are tired of the stereotypical superhero – white adult male with his underpants outside his trousers – will find this story is for them.
Ursula and Eric are characters readers can relate to and whose super powers are within their reach. Ursula is originally from Africa and promises to be the first significant superhero for girls regardless of colour, nationality or race. In a genre in which girls are seen as side-kicks or sub-plots, along comes a female character who is central to an entire series of books. This is not to say that the internationally educated Eric is irrelevant. A new Genworth survey finds that Americans whose parents set good financial examples are more likely to be among the 62 percent of Americans who have a financial plan and feel confident in their financial future.
The first results of the Psychology of Financial Planning Survey, released today by Genworth, are part of a series of research findings that will be issued throughout 2013. The purpose of the survey was to gain insights into the psyche of Americans about what prompts or restricts them from planning for their financial futures.

Spring training kicked off in Lakeland, Fla. with the Topps Company, one of the leading manufacturers and marketers of sports trading cards, creating the World’s Largest Baseball Card to celebrate the return of baseball nationwide and the new 2013 Topps Baseball Series 1 cards.
Detroit Tigers first baseman Prince Fielder and nearly 100 youth baseball players from Lakeland City Baseball unveiled the largest card ever created. Measuring nearly 90 ft. tall and 60 ft. wide, this massive baseball card depicts the image of Fielder, who appears on the cover of the Topps 2013 Series 1 box.

Season 3 of Food Network’s top-rated series Chopped All-Stars returns Sunday, April 7th at 9pm ET/PT, as sixteen culinary competitors battle it out for the title of All-Star champion and a $50,000 prize for the winner’s charity. The five-part competition series, hosted by Ted Allen, includes four chefs going head-to-head each week in themed episodes featuring Food Network chefs vs. Cooking Channel chefs, an all-out battle of the Mega Chefs, the much anticipated battle of the Chopped judges, and a can’t miss culinary showdown as four celebrities with a shared love of cooking compete against each other in the Chopped kitchen. Judged by a rotating roster of Chopped regulars who decide who gets “chopped” each week, including Maneet Chauhan, Marcus Samuelsson, Aarón Sánchez, Chris Santos and Geoffrey Zakarian, the competitors are challenged to create delectable courses in a limited amount of time from the ingredients in the renowned Chopped mystery basket.
