With the airing of Super Bowl XLVIII, 20 Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) students became the first to have a hand in designing the opening animation for FOX Sports’ broadcast of the NFL’s annual championship game. A television event that likely will be one of the top 10 most-watched programs in history, the broadcast was expected to draw an audience of more than 100 million.
The opening animation of the broadcast was set in New York’s iconic Times Square, and brought the worlds of art and football together to capture the superior athleticism of NFL players. SCAD students helped create the concept and design for the animation using assets provided by FOX Sports and by fashioning new creative elements.

Weill Cornell Medical College today opened the Belfer Research Building, a state-of-the-art facility that ushers in a new era at the institution for cutting-edge, translational science. The 18-story, $650 million building, made possible through the generosity of numerous donors, nearly doubles Weill Cornell’s existing research space and empowers scientists to rapidly translate groundbreaking discoveries into the most advanced patient care.

Orlando’s future leaders are honored at Aio’s 30 Days, 30 Dreams Ceremony.
College will be a little bit easier for 90 students in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Dallas thanks to a $1,000 college scholarship and tablet from Aio Wireless.
It’s all part of Aio’s “30 Days, 30 Dreams,” a program designed to lock arms with local nonprofit organizations creating opportunities for future leaders in the communities it serves. After launching the program in Houston and Orlando earlier this year, Aio is expanding the program to Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Dallas.

“You have cancer.” Those three words are among the most dreaded and powerful a person can hear. In the case of Tony Harnell, the diagnosis of thyroid cancer was doubly frightening.
A vocalist/songwriter with a four-octave range, Harnell had toured in the U.S. with likes of Stryper, Twisted Sister and Great White and appeared on stages worldwide, entertaining legions of fans as lead singer with hard-rock band TNT.
