Thousands of Haitian people have endured living on dirt floors amid stifling heat and tropical downpours since the Jan. 12, 2010, earthquake. The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) has begun enrollment for the first Phase I safety study approved by the Food and Drug Administration to investigate the use of a child’s own umbilical cord blood stem cells for traumatic brain injury in children. Kilimanjaro Education Foundation (KEF), in conjunction with Powering Potential, announced an installation today at the Noonkodin School of a solar energy system and an Ubuntu computer network to bring modern education tools to the school.
