During this year's Fortune Global Forum that also took place in Chengdu, Global 500 companies and other well-known multinationals signed 74 investment deals, bringing in an aggregate investment of 112 billion yuan (approx. $US18 billion). During the 12th World Chinese Entrepreneur Convention, another Chengdu-based event, 47 major investment promotion contracts with a total value of 33.6 billion yuan (approx. $US5.4 billion) were signed.

A business school alumnus has cycled over 16,000 km from Shanghai to London, to raise money for a children’s charity.
Matthieu Liard, a graduate of the CEMS Master’s in International Management programme and HEC Alumnus began the mammoth journey in March this year. Along with friend Oli Goulden, he cycled through 16 countries, four deserts and three mountain ranges.

Results from the global Diabetes Attitudes, Wishes and Needs 2 study (DAWN2™) presented today at a symposium during the World Diabetes Congress of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), show that only 29% of people with diabetes report that their healthcare team ask for their input when making their treatment plans. Data presented today at the World Diabetes Congress of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) show that adults with type 2 diabetes achieved improved glycaemic control, significantly lower rates of overall and nocturnal confirmed hypoglycaemia for the full trial period, and a significantly lower rate of severe hypoglycaemia during the maintenance period (defined as week 16 onwards) with Ryzodeg® compared to biphasic insulin aspart 30, both administered twice-daily1.

The 19th Azerbaijan International IT and Telecommunications exhibition Bakutel 2013 will be the largest in the event’s history and coincides with the country’s ‘Year of ICT’, an initiative of President, Ilham Aliyev.
