America’s traffic congestion recession is over. Just as the U.S. economy has regained nearly all of the 9 million jobs lost during the downturn, a new report produced by INRIX and the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) shows that traffic congestion has returned to pre-recession levels. According to the 2015 Urban Mobility Scorecard, travel delays due to traffic congestion caused drivers to waste more than 3 billion gallons of fuel and kept travelers stuck in their cars for nearly 7 billion extra hours – 42 hours per rush-hour commuter. The total nationwide price tag: $160 billion, or $960 per commuter. Washington, D.C. tops the list of gridlock-plagued cities, with 82 hours of delay per commuter, followed by Los Angeles (80 hours), San Francisco (78 hours), New York (74 hours), and San Jose (67 hours). Watch this video by NRMA for top tips on motorcycle lane filtering, to keep you safe and moving on NSW roads. NRMA offer comprehensive motorbike insurance, providing you with cover for your bike against any accidental damage, collision or crashes. In NSW, lane filtering became legal as of the 1st July 2014. In heavy traffic on multi-lane roads, riders often filter between the lanes. It can be an efficient way to road your motorcycle when done correctly. 1. When you are lane-filtering look out for drivers on both sides. 2. Watch for body language as an indication that they are about to change lanes. 3. Get your speed right. While it may be legal to travel at 30km an hour, it may not be safe to do so. 4. Never ride to the left of a vehicle; it puts you at risk of a collision with a vehicle entering a driveway. 5. Be aware of circumstances where it is still illegal to filter lanes, this includes active school zones. Accidents happen and if you ride a motorbike or scooter then a motorcycle insurance policy could cover someone else’s property and your motorcycle, should you have an accident. http://www.nrma.com.au/motorcycle-insurance

Flying takes a heavy toll on Americans’ performance: according to results released today from a 1Above survey conducted online in May by Harris Poll among over 2,000 U.S. adults, 81% of U.S. fliers (Americans who’ve ever flown) whose most recent flight was an hour or longer say they need one full day or more to recover after a flight. Yet results show poor hydration and flying habits abound - factors that greatly exacerbate jet lag symptoms and health risks long after each flight. 1Above, the New Zealand brand behind the flight drink designed to help people combat jet leg and arrive ready, is releasing these findings as they launch in North America this week. Living Off the Grid - http://www.thriveoffthegrid.com/ - See how others are living offgrid using the advantages of wind and solar energy plus more for off grid power and ... Living off the grid you must take advantage of renewable energy. This renewable resource originates from several sources, consisting of sun, wind and water, to start with ... Researchers are constantly on the lookout for more ways of making green energy. Here are the 2 types you must understand now. Living off the Grid: - Advantages of Solar Power i. The energy that originates from simply one hour of sun suffices to supply energy for a year for the whole world ii. A battery can be used to store off grid solar power for evenings and cloudy days iii. Solar panels on a roof work when the sun's rays strike the cells in the panel and electrons are released, producing energy iv. Using solar power will typically provide a saving of $100+ each month on utility costs for the property owners of off grid homes . Living off the Grid: - Advantages of Wind Energy i. When wind goes through the blades of a turbine that is connected to a generator, the energy produced by the spin is converted into electrical energy ii. A single large wind turbine can provide electricity for around 500 off grid homes iii. Last year, 42 % of the houses that were geared up with a source of off grid power used wind iv. Unlike most other sources of energy, wind utilizes hardly any water; not only is wind energy carbon neutral, it helps water conservation also v. There is around 10 times the amount of wind available in the U.S. than is needed to supply power for the whole country vi. Wind energy is presently the fastest-growing source of renewable energy: - Around two wind farms are set up weekly in the U.S. For living off the grid, the facts indicate that the advantages of solar power combined with the advantages of wind energy now exceed any advantages that fossil fuels may have had. However it is probably down to individuals to begin the shift to a larger scale adoption, so that we may all enjoy living off the grid.

Trekking through the Himalaya (with a short stop at Mt. Everest’s base camp), sailing the Ganges River, crossing the North Pacific Ocean on a container ship, meditating with monks in a Tibetan monastery – these are not the typical activities you might expect during a family vacation with two young children. But the Kirkby family is on an extraordinary adventure halfway around the globe – and inviting everyone to come along. Travel Channel’s mesmerizing and cinematic new series, “Big Crazy Family Adventure,” premiering Sunday, June 21 with back-to-back episodes at 9:00 p.m. & 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, follows wilderness guide, writer and award-winning photographer Bruce Kirkby throughout this epic trip – from his home in Kimberley, British Columbia, to a remote monastery in the Himalaya – with his wife, Christine Pitkanen, and their two young boys: Bodi, 7 and Taj, 3. There’s just one catch: on their 13,000-mile adventure they won’t be taking ANY airplanes. To fully experience the life-changing and serendipitous moments that exploring the world provides, they’ll get to their final destination through surface travel only – canoe, container ship, ferry, high-speed train, river boat, tuk tuk, pony, their own eight feet and more. Turning your clocks ahead an hour on March 8 for the start of Daylight Savings Time may be known as the unofficial start to spring, but for many, it’s known as the day we lose an hour of sleep. As you prepare to change your clocks on Sunday, take that opportunity to evaluate your sleeping habits. The loss of that hour of sleep can turn minor sleep issues into major ones. “When we move our clock forward or backward, our internal clock becomes out of sync with the external time,” says Dr. Daniel Shade, Board Certified Sleep Specialist and Director of the AHN Sleep Disorders Center. “The best way to combat this is to expose ourselves to light and let our bodies resynchronize.” To view the Multimedia News Release, go to http://www.multivu.com/players/English/7447951-remworks-daylight-savings-sleep-coach/
