Bis zum Jahr 2018 hat Sich der VW-Konzern das Ziel gesetzt weltweiter Marktführer bei der Elektromobilität zu sein. Dr. Rudolf Krebs Leiter der VW-Konzern Elektro-Traktion erläutert uns die VW-Strategie. Vorboten seien die rein batteriegetriebenen e-up! und e-Golf sowie die Plug-in Hybriden Audi A3 etron und Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid. Doch bereits in 2014 würden 14 Modelle mit Elektro- oder Hybridantrieben zur Verfügung stehen. Und bei entsprechender Nachfrage könnten mittelfristig bis zu 40 neue Modelle mit alternativen Antrieben ausgerüstet werden. Ein Novum ist auch die Produktion dieser Fahrzeuge auf den ganz normalen Produktionsbändern.
Weltpremiere auf der Auto Shanghai 2013, der wichtigsten Automesse in China, feiert das VW CrossBlue Coupé, mit dem die Wolfsburger einen Ausblick in die Zukunft geben. VW-Design-Chef Klaus Bischoff: „Das neue Coupé lebt von einem harmonischen Dreiklang. Es ist robust im Auftritt, sportlich in den Proportionen und von zurückhaltender Eleganz in der Skulptur und den Linien. Diese Studie wird zweifellos Einfluss auf künftige SUV-Modelle haben.
Porsche präsentiert auf der Auto Shanghai 2013 mit der zweiten Generation des Panamera den weltweit ersten Plug-in-Hybrid in der Luxusklasse. Neben dem S E-Hybrid mit 416 PS Systemleistung debütieren außerdem zwei luxuriöse Executive-Varianten mit verlängertem Radstand und ein komplett neu entwickelter Dreiliter-V6-Motor mit Biturbo-Aufladung für Panamera S und Panamera 4S. Der Panamera S E-Hybrid ist die konsequente Weiterentwicklung des Parallel-Vollhybrids mit kraftvollerem Elektromotor, leistungsfähigerer und energiereicherer Batterie sowie externer Auflademöglichkeit am Stromnetz. Der Elektroantrieb leistet mit 95 PS (70 kW) mehr als doppelt so viel wie die 47 PS (34 kW) starke E-Maschine des Vorgängermodells. Er bezieht seine Energie aus der neu entwickelten Lithium-Ionen-Batterie, die mit 9,4 kWh über mehr als den fünffachen Energieinhalt der bisherigen 1,7 kWh-Batterie in Nickel-Metallhydrid-Technik verfügt.
Der Volkswagen-Konzern geht in die Elektro-Offensive. Der Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid als Plug-in steht seit August bei den Händlern, den reinen Stromer e-up! im Kleinwagen-Segment gibt es ab Oktober zum Kampfpreis von 26.900 Euro in den VW-Autohäusern zu sehen. Und Anfang nächsten Jahres folgen der Audi A3 Sportback e-tron als Plug-in Hybrid und der Golf als reines Elektrofahrzeug, von dem es in 2014 zusätzlich ebenfalls eine Plug-in-Variante geben wird. Weitere Modelle werden folgen, um in jedem Segment einen Stromer oder einen Plug-in Hybrid anbieten zu können und das selbst gesteckte Ziel zu erreichen, bis 2018 der weltweit ökologisch führende Autokonzern zu sein. Dabei bleibt man im VW-Konzern realistisch. Trotz des Volks-Elektroautos e-up! werde der Anteil der reinen Stromer vorerst begrenzt sein. Bis 2018 hofft man aber auf einen Absatz von 300.000 Fahrzeugen mit Ladestecker.

Hyundai launched its first plug–in hybrid vehicle today at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The 2016 Hyundai Sonata Plug–in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is expected to travel up to 22 miles on electric power and can recharge in as little as two and a half hours with a Level 2 charger. Sonata Plug–in Hybrid will be built at the Asan, South Korea plant and will go on sale in select markets later this year.
