Three-time U.S. Olympian Deena Kastor, 41, raced to a first place finish at the 11th Annual More Magazine/Fitness Magazine Women’s Half-Marathon in New York City’s Central Park on Sunday, April 13, 2014. Kastor shattered the previous course record time of 1:13:25.051 set in 2013, running a blazing 1:11:38, setting setting not only a new event record, but also a new U.S. Masters record. Local runners Tsehay Geisto of New York, NY, took second place in 1:15:07, while Aregash Gubae placed third in 1:18:35.

Red light cameras saved 159 lives in 2004-08 in 14 of the biggest US cities, a new analysis by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety shows. Had cameras been operating during that period in all large cities, a total of 815 deaths would have been prevented.

Alison Sweeney and Mika Brzezinski co-hosted the 10th Anniversary of the More Magazine/Fitness Magazine Women’s Half-Marathon in Central Park on Sunday, April 14, 2013. More than 7,550 women from around the world took part in the race—the largest women’s-only half-marathon in the country—established by More and Fitness magazines in partnership with New York Road Runners. Sweeney and Brzezinski both participated in the race for the first time and crossed the finish line within two hours before a cheering crowd of 16,000; Sweeney finished in 1:59:50 and Brzezinski finished in 1:49:19.

BMM, Asia’s only Midnight Marathon, was conceived by Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor (RBITC) and the first edition run was held on 19th May 2007. Since then this event is growing from year to year and today people from more than 20 countries are participating in this event and also the number of runners from 2400 in the Year 2007 has increased to 10,000 runners apart from 45 Corporates participating in the event held in 2013, being the seventh edition run.
