In spite of the credit crunch and a looming recession specialist trade show MEDICA is going from strength to strength. The show lured visitors with innovations and a broad-based general exhibition programme. As a result close to 140.000 people flocked to the fair in Düsseldorf. Nearly half of them came from abroad.

The closing party of the Skin:Inks exhibition on July 10 had to be the coolest Hong Kong party in many months. B-ball for the China earthquake victims was played steet style and raised over 80,000 HKD last week in an all out exhibition match between AND1 U.S.A and local celebrities team which included Jaycee Chan. Jaycee made major cash by catching nothing but air 8 times in a row in a free throw contest. 24 Herbs, SIR JBS MC'd the game and the whole band kept the fans out of their seats during halftime. Osage Gallery is one of Hong Kong's most respected art gallery. With locations on Hong Kong Island and Kwun Tong they provide a generous breadth of experience. A Glow Glow Macro Interactive Media Arts Exhibition takes it to the streets. Movie superstar Andy Lau opened the exhibit. Hong Kong LED artist, Teddy Lo premiered PHAEODARIA and United Visual Artists from the U.K. launched their awarding winning VOLUME for the first time in Asia. This year over a half a million people filled Victoria Park. Participants from around the world created fantastic floral worlds. The spectacular event was accented with drawing, dancing, music and photography competitions. The best part of all is the reward at the end.
