BLUE SONG
Music by Maini Sorri
Lyrics by Gary Cornman & Dashawn Williams
1. The silent treatment
seems to be frequent.
Sit by the window
I'm feeling so low.
2. Mind boggling insane
can almost touch pain
rain's running down panes
within window frames.
Chore: Drops of rain paint the picture
and my tears add the texture.
Wracked my brain wondering why
there's no answer though I try.
(TALKING) Magneto Dayo, I see you Maini Dayo Dayo
She's wondering why its different/ and why I'm keeping a distance, and giving the silent treatment, because she's not willing to listen/ we went from building a friendship, Now we're feeling resentment/ but neither one of us really has the guts to end it/ and arguing is starting to become a part of us/ and the bruises we took in the past is why our guards is up/ I apologize for acting disloyal/ my morals were destroyed by the one I had before you/ its sad but its all true/ love is a gamble and I loss too/ so this go round i really can't afford to/ seen people go from having wedding/ no happily ever after instead its/ collapsing ahead of them as they battle depression
2. Mind boggling insane
can almost touch pain
rain's running down panes
within window frames.
Chore: Drops of rain paint the picture
and my tears add the texture.
Wracked my brain wondering why
there's no answer though I try.

Originally, this recording was never meant to be presented as a actual song but just with me goofing around with my music gear and my guitar "The DOG" just after I picked him up from the music pound. It started soon after my new friend at the time who hooked me up with the gear that I now use, must have thought that I was telling dog tales when I told him that punks used to brag that they would know someone who could blow me away with their guitar skills and I have never seen the day to which that has happened. I don't possess any particular guitar skills but when I put the Dog on my lap, he doesn't act like a traditional lapdog and he doesn't take kindly to strangers. Especially to cats who try to invade and rule the house. Well, a few days later he brought a 16 year old cat going by the name of Brandon...or Brendon along with some other cats to watch the event as B Boy was supposed to blow me away with his PRODIGY SKILLS. It was amazing to watch the boy perform Beethoven stuff and the kind of stuff you see on Youtube.
After he played his act with my Dog, he then handed the Dog over to me..."Hey hey..chuckle chuckle" ...I don't walk the Dog...He walk's me...I just tickle his neck and belly and then he'll pull off his Dog tricks to which I have no control over. I explained to my friend later that there's more to playing the guitar than just sitting a dog on your lap to perform tricks. You've gotta have some music to back you up to see how your dog keeps up with the beat and so I made this song up to show him how that's done. I made this one up real fast and tried singing for the first time and arranging vocal parts and just talked about whatever came to mind and just let the Dog do whatever he wanted to do. This is about as raw as it get's. The whole song took me about a week to do.

A wonderful musician and friend of mine has recently departed from our world and is now starting his new life under God's great care and guidance. Nikos will do very well in Heaven and will even delight the angels with his goodwill and music. "I am reaching out to you now from this world Nikos to present you with my gift of this song for you. The melody came to me immediate in my grief. Now with great joy, I embrace you as my eternal friend. There is no end for you now my friend Nikos. Only eternal bliss and fulfillment..... I suppose that I will have to behave myself a little bit more if we are to meet again and go fishing as I have promised.
PS my friend. I do not own a flute, nor did I have any simulated flute sounds that I could use for this song and so I came up with the idea of recording the sound of the timer from my microwave and by stretching it out, I believe that I now have a most beautiful flute sound. You always did call me your crazy artist friend. I suppose that this proves it. Take good care of yourself Nikos. Eternally your crazy artist friend.. Steve.

This is a video of a Gospel single "Can I Praise Him" by Rev Lelton Davis featuring Jannizza Davis and Devonaire Stevenson. It was shot by Bershell Concholla and Jamal Barbee. This song is a combination of Gospel singing and Gospel rap to bless all those who feel the need to praise God in thier own way.
