For the first time ever, a new study conducted by Oxford Economics examines the broad economic impact the gaming industry as a whole has on the U.S. economy. Last night (Wednesday, Dec. 6), the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) debuted the first and only destination virtual reality art program, Vegas: Alter Your Reality (VAYR). The event took place at Wynwood’s Zadok Gallery during Miami Art Week with The Venetian Las Vegas. Powered by Samsung Gear VR, the VAYR installation will be free and open to the public, Dec. 7 - 9 from 1 - 9 p.m. daily.
“Capturing Las Vegas in photos and videos never tells the whole story, which is why we created the first-ever destination VR art program,” said Cathy Tull, senior vice president of marketing at the LVCVA. “By debuting at Miami Art Week, we are able to showcase creative technology to remind visitors of the adventures and experiences that await them in Las Vegas.”
An innovative marketing concept that unites virtual reality and technology with art and travel, VAYR showcases Las Vegas in a unique and artistic way by featuring the work of five international artists including: Adhemas Batista, Brazil; Beeple, U.S.; FAFI, France; INSA, U.K.; and Signalnoise, Canada.

During the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics 2017 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo™ in Chicago, scientists reported on a recent study which uncovered that the intake of pistachios reduces the rise in blood sugar and insulin in women diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM)—commonly known as gestational diabetes. The study, “Effects of Pistachio Intake on Postprandial Blood Glucose Response in Pregnant Women,” found when women who were gestational glucose intolerant (GIGT) or who were diagnosed with GDM ate pistachios, they had a significantly lower rise in blood glucose levels compared to eating whole wheat bread that was matched for calories.

Ulmart’s stunning growth continues unabated as sales for the first six months of 2014 were up 31% in a year-on-year comparison. Sequential quarterly growth increased by 47%.
Ulmart’s half year results put the company at just below GMV of $610 million (VAT included). The company is forecasting GMV of $1.6 billion for the whole year which would put year-end sales at 33% higher than 2013.
Ulmart’s hybrid model which allows customer access to company’s fulfillments centers (currently there are 29 in the European part of Russia) continues to be a disruptive element in e-retail.
