Following a 16-month restoration, the new Tonga Village at the Polynesian Cultural Center opened Saturday, June 11, in a ceremony steeped in culture and celebration, highlighted by the presence of the Royal Family of Tonga.
His Majesty King Tupou VI, joined by his wife, Her Majesty Queen Nanasipauu, made a special trip to participate in the ceremony as a tribute to the people of Tonga and the spirit of the Tongan culture being perpetuated at the Polynesian Cultural Center.
King Tupou VI addressed the audience, praising the Polynesian Cultural Center for its dedication to showcase culture. “The Polynesian Cultural Center is a window the world can look through to understand lesser-known islands and their people,” said King Tupou VI. “The Tonga Village fosters pride in the cultural identity of our people and allows them to preserve and pass on that love to our younger generations.”

Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter Meghan Trainor takes the stage today at AT&T Stadium to kick off The Salvation Army's 128th annual Red Kettle Campaign. Her live nationally televised halftime performance during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game against the Washington Redskins will air on Fox.
“Watching football together is a huge tradition for my family, even more so on Thanksgiving, so it's surreal to be able to perform today,” said Trainor. “The fact that this is helping raise awareness for The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign makes it even sweeter.”

For millions of Titanic fans around the world, the city that built the most famous ship on the planet is now Europe’s new must-see destination.
Titanic Belfast, the world’s largest Titanic visitor attraction has opened in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on the site where the ship was designed, built and launched. March 31st is also the same date on which RMS Titanic was completed in 1912 and the same day her first keel plate was laid in 1909.

The pair spoke on a variety of Sinatra’s brightest Las Vegas performances, his favorite Las Vegas hot spots and how Sinatra would perceive the transformation of the glittering Strip into the Las Vegas of today.
“Any trip to Las Vegas with my dad was always great, always eventful,” shared Tina Sinatra, smiling over memories from her childhood visits to Las Vegas to watch her father perform. “He was born to play Las Vegas; some say he made Las Vegas.”
