Vandell’s debut record takes its namesake from that same title, one
that has been hard-earned by Vandell over years of intense work. The
African-native instrumentalist has released one of the more intriguing
and eclectic instrumental records thus far this year on the indie
scene. What makes the ‘One-Girl Symphony’ so interesting is Vandell’s
hand over a vast array of genres. The record style-hops with ridiculous
tact, shifting from classical influences to rock and roll and blues in
seamless movements. Speaking of which, there actually are movements.
Her debut album is broken into four autobiographical sections of three
songs each: Teenage Turbulence, The Formative Years, Return to
Innocence & Hope, and Empty Promises to Broken Hearts.
The sound of mazurkas and polonaises is known worldwide; Fryderyk Chopin was a musical genius who continues to inspire artists and mesmerize music lovers. While he lived 200 years ago, visitors can now experience his life and works on a tour in Warsaw. Chopin spent over half his life in Poland’s capital, and his music lives on in Warsaw’s concert halls, parks and city streets.

leading composer at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Computer Music Research at Plymouth University , and Dr Greg B Davies, Head of Behavioural and Quantitative Finance at Barclays, have taken reality performances to another level by partnering with Barclays to produce a reality opera. The performance, which was held on the 15th November 2012 at Egyptian Hall, Mansion House, focused on the drama unfolding on an “open outcry” stock trading floor, the type of trading floor on which traditionally traders shout and use hand-signals.

This week a memorial tribute was held at Hong Kong�s art colony, Cattle Depot, for Wong Ka Kui. He is a widely loved and remembered musical icon in Hong Kong�s collective memory.
