Where might be the perfect place to introduce Tecnu Bites & Stings, an aptly named new over-the-counter product for stings and insect bites? How about the Great Texas Mosquito Festival in Clute, Texas? For 36 years, thousands of people have gathered at the yearly celebration along the gulf coast of Texas; a place known for thirsty mosquitoes, biting ants and other persnickety pests.
To the group at Tec Labs it sounded like the perfect place to get credible feedback on their innovative new product. So they hired a professional camera crew, grabbed some cases of Tecnu Bites & Stings and left the humidity-free confines of Oregon and headed to the land of cowgirls and Texas tea.
As the camera rolled, the video crew got some wonderful feedback from a great mix of people. The goal was to get honest and straightforward reactions and that’s exactly what occurred. Texans love straight talk and Tec Labs was thrilled to get the feedback. See the authentic reactions for yourself by watching the video!

BLACK+DECKER™ announces new powered kitchen and bathroom scrubbers for cleaning without all the work. The GrimeBuster™, GrimeBuster™ Pro, and ScumBuster® Pro motorize scrubbing in order to agitate surface materials, eliminating the typical “elbow grease” that manual cleaning requires.
The GrimeBuster™ ($14.99 MSRP) and GrimeBuster™ Pro ($29.99 MSRP) quickly clean kitchen surfaces, dirty pots and pans, sinks, microwaves, and more. They are lightweight and each feature an ergonomic design. With a slip-resistant grip, they are also submersible in water. Each scrubber comes with two dishwasher-safe scrubbing attachments – one with a non-scratch sponge and one with nylon bristles. Heavy-duty sponge and bristle brush attachments will be sold separately. The GrimeBuster™ is powered by four included alkaline batteries. The GrimeBuster™ Pro has added features, including a longer handle and a charging dock that powers its long-lasting Lithium-Ion battery. The attractively designed GrimeBuster™ Pro can be left on the counter on its charging base until it’s time to clean again.

Researchers at global public health organization NSF International, Harvard Medical School, the United States Department of Defense and the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment in the Netherlands (RIVM) recently identified four unapproved, DMAA-like stimulants in six over-the-counter weight-loss and pre-workout products currently available online. The research was published in the peer-reviewed journal Clinical Toxicology.
The potentially harmful compounds – including banned stimulants 1,3-DMAA and 1,3-DMBA as well as octodrine and a newly identified DMAA analog – were not listed as ingredients in the products and may have been disguised as “2-aminoisoheptane” or extract of Aconitum kusnezoffii. These stimulants may cause adverse cardiac events, hemorrhagic strokes or sudden death, especially if taken prior to strenuous exercise or combined with caffeine. Extreme heat and dehydration may also increase the health risks.

A new survey commissioned by Mucinex, the number one over-the-counter brand* in America, reveals that more than 158 million Americans (63 percent of the adult population) would try to hide being sick so they wouldn’t have FOMO (fear of missing out) on doing things they wanted to do. However, more than 206 million Americans (82 percent of those surveyed) would agree that when they see people out and about when they are sick, they wish those battling cold and flu symptoms stayed home instead. While this time of year is full of fun autumn activities and outings with family and friends, it’s also the beginning of cold and flu season, and the last thing people want to do is stay at home and battle a swarm of sick symptoms.
