• Travel trends: Travelling to destinations during their peak seasons can drive prices up. Visiting during off-peak times can help save money and you’ll have easier access to activities than at busier times of the year.
• Get organized: Planning a fun and successful trip means, setting a budget, researching, and booking early! Shop around to find transportation and accommodations that suit your needs and your budget.
• Get Your Ride Ready: If you’re hitting the open road, make sure any maintenance you need to have done on your vehicle is taken care of including checking your vital fluids, tires, and headlights and break lights.
• First Aid Kit: Make a little room in your luggage for a travel first aid kit. It won’t cost much, and it won’t take up much space but it can certainly come in handy.
New midsize SUV ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety show that headlights are improving when it comes to visibility, but many still need to do a better job of lighting the road ahead while limiting bothersome glare.
The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and the 2017 Volvo XC60 are the only models available with good-rated headlights among the 19 midsize SUVs and 18 midsize luxury SUVs evaluated in this new round of tests. Twelve SUVs are available with headlights rated acceptable, while 23 aren’t available with anything other than marginal- or poor-rated headlights.

Serving as a national model for how technology can create job opportunities and accessible workplaces for people without vision, Indianapolis-based nonprofit Bosma Enterprises is one of the first organizations in the U.S. to use BlindSquare, an innovative wayfinding technology. Bosma is using BlindSquare to help clients and employees better navigate its new, state-of-the-art headquarters, which opened June 2, and is representative of the nonprofit’s mission to assist people who are blind or visually impaired gain the life skills they need to remain independent, and the job skills they need to stay self-sufficient.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is alerting pregnant women about the risks of listeriosis, a foodborne disease that can severely affect a pregnant women and her unborn child.
Listeria can affect all races and ethnic groups, but pregnant women are 10 times more likely than other healthy adults to get listeriosis due to hormonal changes that affect the immune system during pregnancy. Pregnant Hispanic women are about 24 times more likely than the general population to get listeriosis. A pregnant mother may pass Listeria onto her unborn baby without even knowing it because she doesn’t feel sick at all, yet the disease can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth, premature labor, the delivery of a low birthweight infant, a wide range of health problems for a newborn, or even infant death.

Milano Design Week is the setting for a collaborative, large-scale light installation by LG and Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka. Entitled TOKUJIN YOSHIOKA x LG: S.F_Senses of the Future, the impressive work seeks to illustrate humanity’s relationship with the natural world and to illuminate LG’s human-centric design philosophy, and will be on exhibit from 4-9 April at Superstudio Più in Milan.
The Exhibition offers visitors a feast for their senses and a taste of what the future holds by combining LG’s cutting-edge technology with Tokujin Yoshioka’s groundbreaking experimental design techniques. One part of the exhibition conveys the story of hope for the future through a commonplace object in people’s lives – the S.F chair. But these are no ordinary chairs, but ones borne of science fiction. A total of seventeen S.F chairs have been artfully ensconced with LG’s advanced OLED displays which measure only 15mm thick. The chairs are both static and dynamic because of the brilliant flashes emitted from the double-sided panels and portray a meditation on the blindingly fast speed of modern day life.
