To celebrate Team GB’s first gold medal moment at London 2012, Royal Mail will produce a stamp in 24 hours to honour Helen and Heather’s gold medal triumph in the Women’s Pair Rowing.
The gold medal win makes Helen and Heather the first members of Team GB to appear on Royal Mail’s Gold Medal stamps and the first all-women sports team ever to appear on a Royal Mail stamp. They are also the first ever British gold medallists in women’s Olympic rowing.

The 2012 Summer Olympic Games, officially the Games of the XXX Olympiad, also known informally as London 2012, began in London, United Kingdom on 27 July and will continue until 12 August 2012. The first event, the group stages in women's football, began two days earlier, on 25 July. More than 10,000 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees are expected to participate.
