This is a test animation made in After Effects.
I heard this segment on Pat Kenny's RTE radio show about people applying for Community Welfare grants in Tallaght, Dublin and besides annoying me at how these people just take, take, take I thought it would be a perfect basis to try out animating in After Effects CS5.
These characters/this style will be fine tuned for the Agent Zorlax animated short. Please comment if you have any tips, I know I messed up here and there.

In recognition of Small Business Saturday, a shopping holiday that encourages consumers to patronize small and local businesses, Carhartt today announced the release of a short film to honor tradesmen and craftspeople, The Road Home to Craftsmanship. The focus of the film is hardworking, loyal small business workers who are building America. Carhartt recently embarked on a tour of the Midwest to document the spirit of craftsmanship. The team began in Detroit, crossed through Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha and ended up in Denver.

Farmers in Ivory Coast struggle with a mango harvest season that is as short as the fruit is sweet.
“For a 4-6 week period in April and May, the country is flooded with good mangos, but it ends abruptly when the rainy season starts. From then on, the mango just starts decaying,” explains Mathew Shed, container manager in the specialist shipping company Africa Express Line (AEL).
“We were approached in April by Eolis, a CF logistics company, who asked for some kind of smart solution that would keep the fruit delicious and marketable for a longer time,” he adds.
The solution turned out to be special reefer containers. With quick help from a container leasing company and a container depot in Antwerp, Belgium, Star Cool containers were upgraded to work with controlled atmosphere, in short known as CA, and sent to Ivory Coast.

Tyrelle Davis and Faith Fennidy, both 11-years old, made headlines when they were sent home from school because of their hair extensions. Eleven-year-old Jorja Orrick was bullied for having short hair, which prompted her sister Sarah to cut her own locks in solidarity. With real stories like these and a history of helping young girls build self-esteem, Dove was inspired to join forces with Kelly Rowland to write and produce an original song titled, “Crown” — a power anthem that aims to break down the narrow definition of beautiful hair and encourage girls to feel confident in wearing it how they choose. Mexican-American singer-songwriter Becky G and Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and musician Raquel Sofia are taking you for a ride at two of the summer’s biggest music festivals – Lollapalooza and Outside Lands.
Powered by the Toyota Corolla, these artists will share their journey through real-time social media content. The series, “Musica y Destinos con Toyota,” kicked-off on Friday, July 31 with Becky G (@iambeckyg) sharing her musical experience at Lollapalooza at Grant Park in Chicago. The iconic festival featured a diverse range of musical acts, including Paul McCartney, Sam Smith and Metallica.
During the three-day event, Becky G met with Gogol Bordello, a Gypsy-punk band known for their authentic energy and theatrical stage shows. Highlights from the meet and greet were shared via Facebook @ToyotaLatino and @BeckyG, and Twitter @iambeckyg. The artist also captured short videos of her adventure through her story on Snapchat, available to followers.
And the musical ride continues this weekend when Sofia joins Toyota for the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco, Aug. 7-9. The three-day festival features performances by Billy Idol, Kendrick Lamar, Mumford & Sons, Axwell & Ingrosso, Twin Peaks and Clasixx, to name a few.

New research published in the September issue of the British Journal of Nutrition and featured in the just released Global Phytonutrient Report highlights a significant shortfall in fruit and vegetable consumption in people’s diets around the world. Commissioned by the Nutrilite Health Institute of Amway, the research finds the majority of adults worldwide would have to at least double their current consumption of fruits and vegetables to meet the World Health Organization’s minimum recommendation of five servings (400 grams) per day. Additionally, the vast majority of adults worldwide – 60 to 87 percent across 13 geographic diet regions – are falling short of this recommendation and missing out on crucial nutrition and health benefits.
