Vivid Sydney, the largest light, music and ideas festival in the Southern Hemisphere, and Australia’s Event of the Year, features a huge, free nightly light show of lighting installations, building projections and water theatre around Sydney harbour from 6pm until midnight, as well as live music performances and over 200 creative industry events.

A recent study found that only 47% of Americans are currently taking steps to prevent bone loss1, despite considering it to be of high importance. The Department of Veterans Affairs will recognize 2012 National VA Research Week April 23 – 27. This year’s theme, “Caring for Veterans Through Discovery & Collaboration,” will mark a week that celebrates the contributions of Veterans who make research possible by participating in VA research studies as well as VA investigators and collaborators.
John P. Holdren, PhD, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and Assistant to the President, will be a featured speaker at VA’s Research Week Forum April 26. Cycle for Survival, the nationwide movement to beat rare cancers, brought hundreds of supporters to Times Square on Friday for its second annual Times Square Takeover, an all-day celebration featuring high-energy stationary cycling sessions.

Today, Cox Enterprises released the results of the second annual Cox Conserves Sustainability Survey, which showcased that Millennials will lead the way for small and medium businesses in future conversations and efforts around conservation, energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. The survey, commissioned by Cox Enterprises, is a national study that examines sustainability opportunities and challenges for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).
The top finding from the 2015 survey is that Millennials have a huge appetite for sustainability and will drive adoption of these practices. Millennials showed greater knowledge about sustainability than other age cohorts and a strong interest in implementing sustainable business practices, but noted that in their current roles, they lacked the influence needed to effect change.

The pristine, sugary white sand of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., once again will draw master sand sculptors from around the globe for the 24th Annual American SandSculpting Championship & Beach Festival on Nov. 10-14, 2010.
Competition will be keen as 17 master sand sculptors who together hold at least 35 world titles descend upon the destination, with the winner receiving an automatic bid to the world championship in September 2011. New survey results from Connections Academy, http://www.connectionsacademy.com, one of the country’s leading providers of full-time online school for students in grades K through 12, reveals the reasons parents enroll their children in online schools. The results are from the Connections Academy 2014 Parent Satisfaction Survey, an annual third-party survey now in its twelfth year.
