The broadcast marks the tenth anniversary that the acclaimed actors, who have dedicated themselves to veterans’ causes and supporting our troops in active service, co-host the event. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), is hosting a panel discussion today on the fast-evolving practice of fat grafting, and how surgeons are discovering best practices to produce the most natural looking results. Physician members of ASAPS concur that less is more when it comes to utilizing a patient’s own fat to enhance certain anatomical regions including the breast and buttocks. Further, they agree that fat grafting is proving to be a novel technique for body sculpting previously neglected areas including women’s and men’s shoulders, pectorals, legs and stomachs to create definition.

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), is hosting a panel discussion about the latest best practices and uses for injectables including the newest FDA-approved options at The Aesthetic Meeting today in Montreal, Quebec Canada.
The panel discussed the latest advances, including the ways various dermal fillers can be utilized to produce optimal results for targeted areas. There are thirteen FDA-approved dermal fillers on the market to-date, providing aesthetic plastic surgeons with the ability to customize anti-aging treatments to patients’ needs. “The filler choices are dictated by a patient’s unique aging pattern, the anatomical area to be treated and physiochemical properties,” explains ASAPS member, Dr. Z. Paul Lorenc.

Is there such a thing as a nonsurgical facelift? Aesthetic plastic surgeons are conducting a panel discussion at The Aesthetic Meeting 2015, the annual meeting of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), to determine whether a nonsurgical facelift is a legitimate cosmetic procedure. Surgeons discussed what constitutes a nonsurgical facelift and how it impacts the longitudinal care aesthetic plastic surgeons can provide to address facial aging.

At the end of February 2015, a lantern donation and lighting ceremony was held in the village of Sone, in Indonesia's West Timor, as part of a related project. The “Cut Out the Darkness” project, a part of Panasonic Corporation's “100 Thousand Solar Lanterns Project”, delivers solar lanterns with lantern shades designed by people from around the world, in the hope of learning about the challenges of living in areas that have no electricity.

National Dog Bite Prevention Week®, led by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), is May 17-23, 2015. State Farm and other members of the National Dog Bite Prevention Coalition have joined forces to educate adults and children about ways to reduce dog-related injuries. After years of analyzing attempted abductions, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® has identified the tricks used by abductors, and the most successful escape strategies for children. NCMEC and Honeywell (NYSE:HON) are working together to deliver this insight nationwide through KidSmartz™, the premier abduction prevention program that equips teachers and parents with tools to help protect children.
A key component of the program is the KidSmartz “Safety Dance” Video Contest. From January through March, elementary schools were asked to submit videos of their students dancing to the new KidSmartz “Safety Dance,” a reimagining of a popular 1980’s song with new lyrics designed to give kids the knowledge and confidence to avoid abduction.

The RCS Engineers Rocketry Team from Russellville, Ala., beat out 100 competitors to claim first place at the National Finals of the 2015 Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC). After months of rocketry design, test flights and qualification launches, hundreds of students from across the country traveled to Great Meadow in the Plains, Va., to vie for the title of champion of the largest rocketry competition in the world.

L’Oréal Paris, a leading global beauty brand, and Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA), the leading private funder of melanoma research, announced today the launch of It’s THAT Worth It To Me. This social media campaign encourages women to donate 15 social media seconds by sharing why SPF protection or using sunless tanner is worth it to protect their skin, their beauty and their life. For every social share, L’Oréal Paris will donate $1 to MRA to fund the L’Oréal Paris - MRA Team Science Award Research Grant, up to $250,000 in 2015.

In recognition of National Animal Disaster Preparedness Day on May 9, 2015, Hill’s Pet Nutrition is encouraging pet parents to plan ahead by creating a pet emergency go-kit and following several easy tips to ensure the safety of their pets during a crisis.
“The best thing a family can do in the case of an emergency is be prepared, and that includes having a plan in place for your pets,” said Kostas Kontopanos, President of Hill’s Pet Nutrition North America. “We hope that families take into account some simple steps that will help them feel ready to respond should disaster strike.”
Hill’s recommends building a Pet Emergency Go-Kit in order to cut down on time in the event of a crisis, allowing families to focus solely on getting to safety as quickly as possible.
