Centennial College's Heavy Duty Equipment Technician is a two-year program in which students spend the first eight months in school, eight months in co-op as a registered apprentice and a final eight months in school. J.Crew brands has announced their continued participation in a fall denim drive in partnership with Cotton Incorporated’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ denim recycling program in J.Crew and Madewell retail stores. The drive first kicked off in 74 Madewell stores on August 12, while J.Crew's 269 participating stores started the program on August 21. Both brands have decided to extend their participation in the denim drive - J.Crew will host until December 31, 2014 and Madewell will host until January 31, 2015.

Finding time to eat well doesn’t mean you have to resort to eating out or going through the drive through during this busy fall season. New data analysis, supported in part by by Nestlé USA, indicates that people who reported dining on frozen meals ate fewer calories per day and consumed less saturated fat than those who reported eating fast food meals, also known as quick service restaurant (QSR) meals.1 The findings also showed that those who reported eating frozen meals consumed more essential nutrients than those who reported opting for fast food meals.
The findings are based on a new analysis of data from the 2003-2010 What We Eat In America (WWEIA) National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), a program of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Despite a dramatic increase in participation over the last decade, a new household survey commissioned by the Afterschool Alliance finds a significant gap between the demand and supply of afterschool programs. The 2014 edition of America After 3PM, which includes responses from 30,000 U.S. families, finds that for every child enrolled in an afterschool program, there are two more who are not and whose parents would enroll their child, if a program were available.
