Today, Feeding America®, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, and French’s® announce a national effort to help children and families who struggle with hunger. For every specially-marked bottle of French’s Mustard sold between April 18 and November 30, and specially-marked bottles of French’s Ketchup sold between April 18 and December 31, one meal* will be donated to the Feeding America nationwide network of 200 food banks. More than 48 million people in America struggle with food insecurity, including 15 million children – at a life stage when food is critical to healthy growth and development. Food insecurity is defined as a lack of access, at times, to enough food for an active, healthy life, according to the USDA. It is an issue that affects every single county in our country. “Food insecurity all too often goes unseen, but every day, millions of people in America are faced with insufficient food for themselves or their families,” said Diana Aviv, CEO of Feeding America. “Through this partnership with French’s, our nationwide network of food banks is better able to help fill this gap. This initiative not only helps to bring national attention to the massive problem of hunger in the U.S., but also provides everyone the opportunity to fight hunger in their local communities.” To view the multimedia release go to: http://www.multivu.com/players/English/7843051-feeding-america-frenchs-fight-hunger/ Hunger, French’s, Feeding America, food banks, food, family, healthy, children, Ketchup, MultiVu 7843051

There's something about the road trip that really speaks to many Americans. It gives them the freedom to travel the country's highways and back roads to explore new places and familiar destinations. It allows them to taste local food and experience local culture–on their own timeline. And it's a cost-conscious way to have a truly memorable vacation. It's only natural, then, that many people think road trips are the best way to travel. A brand-new survey from AARP Travel (http://travel.aarp.org), a valuable resource for America's 76 million baby boomers who spend over $120 billion annually in leisure travel, finds that more than 7 in 10 people 45-plus say that road trips are their favorite way to travel. Building on a successful campaign that helped hundreds of thousands of Americans learn their risk of developing type 2 diabetes through campaign messaging and an online risk test, the first-of-its-kind initiative to raise national awareness of prediabetes returns with an entertaining new approach. The new campaign, launching today, encourages viewers to take a one-minute prediabetes risk test to know where they stand and discover how they can decrease their risk of developing type 2 diabetes — and it does so with some adorable helpers. More than one in three American adults has prediabetes — a serious health condition that often leads to type 2 diabetes and other significant health conditions like blindness, heart attack or stroke. According to newly released CDC data, however, nearly 90 percent of the 84 million people with prediabetes don’t know they have it and aren’t aware of the long-term risks to their health. Currently, about 30 million Americans are living with diabetes. To view the multimedia release go to: https://www.multivu.com/players/English/8142351-ad-council-prediabetes/

This October, Red Gold is making it easy for people to give back when sharing their family meal. For any Red Gold canned tomato product purchased throughout the month, Red Gold will donate one meal* to help families facing hunger, with a goal of donating 2 million meals to Feeding America and its network of food banks. Whether it’s labeled Red Gold, Redpack, Tuttorosso or Huy Fong, consumers can simply buy a can, and help feed a family. The philanthropic effort comes at a time when millions of American families struggle to put food on the table. According to recent data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), 1 in 8 Americans face hunger, including 13 million children. However, most families don’t recognize the extent of hunger in America; a Red Gold survey found that nearly 7 in 10 households were either unsure of the number of Americans struggling with hunger, or they severely underestimated the problem.
