According to Department of Defense statistics, hearing loss is the number one war-related injury affecting veterans from the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan. An estimated 60 percent of veterans returning from Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) have some hearing damage, with 840,000 suffering from tinnitus and just over 700,000 suffering from hearing loss. More than 1.2 million veterans from every generation suffer from some form of hearing loss.

Bindu is the last village on the Indian side bordering Bhutan. It is known for its beautiful landscape with Jaldhaka River, hills and forests, which attracts a lot of tourists. A large metal sculpture in honor of automotive pioneer Louis Chevrolet, co-founder of the Chevrolet brand, was unveiled and inaugurated in the Swiss city of La Chaux-de-Fonds, today.
The abstract work was commissioned on the occasion of the car brand’s 100 year jubilee in November 2011. Today, it was formally handed over to Louis Chevrolet’s native city by Dr. Thomas Sedran, President and Managing Director of Chevrolet Europe.

Ahead of World Stroke Day 2012 (October 29), European Policy Makers have joined over 90 Medical and Patient Organisations, and more than 100,000 people, in supporting the Global Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Patient Charter and calling for National Governments and the World Health Organisation to act to make the prevention of AF-related strokes a priority.
