What if there were a way to prevent a leading cause of childhood death, but three out of four of us were doing it wrong? The startling truth is that a car seat can dramatically reduce childhood death and injury from motor vehicle crashes, but 75 percent are installed incorrectly.1
With Child Passenger Safety Week upon us, the good news is that community-based programs are making a difference. Buckle Up for Life is a national education program, created in 2004 by Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and Toyota, to save children's lives. Over the last ten years, it has grown to include a network of more than a dozen of the nation's leading children's hospitals and has educated more than 17,000 people about the proper use of car seats and seat belts. Toyota's sponsorship has provided funding for over 40,000 car seats for families in need.

Summertime means vacation time – but, with unpredictable weather patterns, fluctuating gas prices and increasing costs, Americans nationwide are concerned about getting away. Our national travel expert has some great trips on how to survive summer travel – he/she will cover everything from how to get the best deals to planning a vacation suitable for the whole family.
Some of the unique and useful tips Amy can offer are:
• Travel trends: Travelling to destinations during their peak seasons can drive prices up. Visiting during off-peak times can help save money and you’ll have easier access to activities than at busier times of the year.
• Get organized: Planning a fun and successful trip means, setting a budget, researching, and booking early! Shop around to find transportation and accommodations that suit your needs and your budget.
• Get Your Ride Ready: If you’re hitting the open road, make sure any maintenance you need to have done on your vehicle is taken care of including checking your vital fluids, tires, and headlights and break lights.
• First Aid Kit: Make a little room in your luggage for a travel first aid kit. It won’t cost much, and it won’t take up much space but it can certainly come in handy.
One to six in 1,000 children in the United States are born with severe to profound hearing loss.1 For a parent, that diagnosis can be life altering, and they are in need of help, information and support. Today, Cochlear Limited (ASX: COH), the global leader in implantable hearing solutions, introduces IWantYouToHear.com as part of its ongoing commitment to parents seeking treatment options for their child’s severe to profound hearing loss.
For many parents with a child who has received a hearing loss diagnosis, the wish for their child is immediate and clear: “I want you to hear.” They want their child to hear the birds and their favorite songs, learn to develop speech and language, and most of all, they want their child to hear them say “I love you.”

To find out more on the different types of car insurance in NSW visit http://www.nrma.com.au
At NRMA Insurance, we’re here to give you all the information you need to choose the best policy for you.
That means understanding the difference between agreed value and market value when you take out our Comprehensive Car Insurance.
One is not necessarily better than the other. It’s about which one is right for you.
Say your car is a total loss and you have chosen agreed value on your comprehensive car insurance policy.
Agreed value is a fixed value, that we agree to insure your car for upfront, which includes modifications, options and accessories. This gives you the confidence of knowing how much we’ll pay you if your car is a total loss, less any fees and charges. People often prefer an agreed value if they have finance owing on their car.
Market Value on the other hand is the value of your car as determined when an incident happens. This is influenced by such factors as local market prices, as well as the age and condition, of your car. It can be a cheaper option, as the amount you’ll receive is uncertain.
We hope this has been informative and you’re now ready to go. Remember that, whether you’re insuring a new car, the weekend wagon or a family hand-me-down, the decision to insure your vehicle for either its Agreed Value or Market Value is entirely up to you with our Comprehensive Car Insurance.

New midsize SUV ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety show that headlights are improving when it comes to visibility, but many still need to do a better job of lighting the road ahead while limiting bothersome glare.
The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe and the 2017 Volvo XC60 are the only models available with good-rated headlights among the 19 midsize SUVs and 18 midsize luxury SUVs evaluated in this new round of tests. Twelve SUVs are available with headlights rated acceptable, while 23 aren’t available with anything other than marginal- or poor-rated headlights.
