Zoës Kitchen (NYSE: ZOES), a fast casual Mediterranean-inspired restaurant group, today introduced several unique ingredients to their menu, bringing the flavors and benefits of Mediterranean eating to guests via four new menu offerings.
Innovating within the restaurant space, Zoës Kitchen is the first restaurant group to introduce the lupini bean to the United States, adding this protein-packed, mild-flavored legume to their menu across 170 restaurants in 17 states. Farro will also be incorporated in the menu, an ancient, savory, fiber-rich grain that is commonly used in place of pasta and rice in the Mediterranean. Calabrian peppers, from Calabria, Italy, will add a slightly sweet and mildly spicy flavor to several dishes. Light and crispy piadina flatbread will offer guests an alternative to traditional breads used for sandwiches in the US.

For the tenth consecutive year, The Capital Grille today launched its highly anticipated wine event, The Generous Pour. This year, guests are invited to taste and toast the legacy of renowned winemaker Dan Duckhorn. With wines hand selected to pair with the restaurant’s signature menu items, including hand-cut steaks, dry aged in-house, the tasting experience offers seven selections of classic California and Washington varietals, all created by Dan Duckhorn and his award-winning winemakers. Of the selections is the Goldeneye Rosé of Pinot Noir making its exclusive debut at this year’s event. The Generous Pour is available for $28 from July 9 through September 2, 2018, when paired with dinner.

Each year, the National Restaurant Association surveys nearly 1,300 professional chefs – members of the American Culinary Federation (ACF) – to explore food and beverage trends at restaurants in the coming year. The annual “What’s Hot” list gives a peak into which food, beverages and culinary themes will be the new items on restaurant menus that everyone is talking about in 2017.
According to the survey, menu trends that will be heating up in 2017 include poke, house-made charcuterie, street food, food halls and ramen. Trends that are cooling down include quinoa, black rice, and vegetarian and vegan cuisines.

The National Restaurant Association’s groundbreaking Kids LiveWell program is celebrating its three-year anniversary this July, the association announced today. The voluntary program, which provides a growing selection of healthful children’s menu choices, has grown from 19 to 150 participating restaurant brands, representing more than 42,000 locations nationwide. The initiative includes quickservice and tableservice concepts among national companies, regional chains and independent restaurants, as well as theme parks, resorts and museums.

Maggiano’s Little Italy® is a go-to, Guest favorite for special occasions ranging from birthdays and anniversaries to weddings and graduations.
