Today, a new study from P&G Beauty & Grooming and lead investigator Nancy Etcoff, PhD., Assistant Clinical Professor at Harvard University and Associate Researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Psychiatry, confirms for the first time that using color cosmetics does, in fact, significantly alter how women are perceived by others, at first glance and over time. Results of the study, published on October 3, 2011 in PLoS ONE, show that makeup application specifically impacts judgments of attractiveness and character when viewed rapidly or for unlimited amounts of time.

According to the results of a recent study conducted by researchers at the USDA-Agricultural Research Service Western Human Nutrition Research Center, the Northwest Cherry Growers are pleased to announce that consuming about 45 (280 g) sweet Bing cherries significantly decreased circulating concentrations of specific inflammatory biomarkers in the blood. According to Dr. Kent Erickson, Professor at UC Davis School of Medicine and a collaborator in the study, “Many studies by other investigators have demonstrated that some of those inflammation markers are associated with increased risk for some chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer.” The findings of the study have been published in the March 2013 issue of The Journal of Nutrition.

The con man known as David Walker didn't exactly volunteer, but OSS chief Wild Bill Donovan convinced him that serving his country and the cause of freedom by posing as German astrologer Peter Kepler was a better use of his time than going to prison for impersonating a Princeton University professor. His mission: use his skills in illusion, sleight of hand and deception to gain Heinrich Himmler's trust and persuade him to assassinate Adolph Hitler.
In action that takes him from Berlin to Paris to Cairo; from Hitler's Eagle Nest to Himmler's occult Wewelsburg Castle, Gary Kriss's The Zodiac Deception is a memorable debut, an unforgettable thrill ride through the dark heart of World War II Germany.

Penelope Lombard co-hosting Professor Hans von Puppet on the After Dark Show. Penelope Lombard is a stand-up comedian and at the same time an essay writer. This week Professor Hans and Penelope are going to take up the topic on losing virginity and hymens. The hymen is intact when a lady is still a virgin but if not then it’s broken and irreparable. In some rather backward primitive cultures it is mandatory being a virgin when getting married. A way to test that is to check if a woman bleeds the first time a couple is having sex during their honeymoon.
